Before purchasing I asked in the QA section if this product water proofed wood, it does not. I got this for my dining table and it starts to come off when I wipe it down with just a damp rag (only water on it). I can't even put a hot bowl of soup on it without is leaving a ring.

I purchased BB Frosch clear and dark wax because I wanted a food safe, non toxic wax to use on a chalk painted sofa. I emailed them to ask and they reassured me it was fine. They have no phone contact. I received the jars and opened them. The fumes were powerful, reminding me of the old shoemaker shops and the refinishing workroom I knew years ago, smelling of solvents. I read the label. It cailutioned to not inhale the fumes which caused dizziness. It was a flammable wax as well. I had already purchased my chalk paint and my project couldn't be completed. Then I began the long return process. It can take 2 days. I'll update this review when I receive the return label. I would prefer if BB Frosch gave full disclosure of the dangers when they touted how environmentally safe it was. It isn't safe for the environment I'm breathing! Such a disappointment. Amazon did return because the seller made claims that weren’t true on their website.The seller emailed this message: Message from seller BB Frösch: Hi, I see that you are requesting to return the wax that you purchased. The wax that you purchased is safe for use. It does contain solvents that evaporate, once applied. Of course, any type of wax is not safe for consumption. However, you can breathe safely just fine when using either of our waxes. If you are looking for a more natural option, you may like our Natural Finishing Wax, which is what you described. If you need any further assistance, please let me know.I was able to get the Safety Data Sheet and VOC is 685.

I bought this to use on my guitars because the typical waxes sold for use on guitars, at least the ones I've used in the past, leave a white residue in difficult areas, such as around the bridge of an acoustic guitar and corner reveals where the neck attaches to the body. This wax, on the other hand, is clear, not white, so when you finish waxing and buffing, there is no white residue anywhere, even in places where all the excess wax is most difficult to buff away.A little goes a long way so a container of the Frosch wax should last quite a long time.It dries almost instantly and leaves a hard protective finish.Excellent product.

I’ve never used this kind of wax before. It was really easy. It isn’t smelly, like other furniture finishes. The texture when you finish is smooth and not sticky. It looks good!

Easy to use. Quick to cure. Buff to the sheen you desire.I’ve used it on 3 projects. It took one jar to finish the large hutch. I was able to complete 3-4 smaller projects with the same size jar.Definitely get the BB Frösch clothes to go with this.
