Size and handle-length were what I wanted, but it’s very light-weight aluminum and arrived in an envelope and was bent. Will likely not hold up to very thick gumbo

This laddle is the one if you're cooking for a high volume level. Strong and sturdy enough for any menu.

Bought this ladle when my old one broke and didn't notice the size till it arrived, it was hilarious at first but I've made good use out of it and it's much more useful than I thought, and I've just ordered a new one since my old one was lost or stolen

Bought this ladle for our backyard Gumbo and Cajun Seafood soup. This ladle is huge. 6 cup scoop and a 20 inch handle makes quick work of getting bowls filled. It is sturdy, heavy duty and a great value for the money. You won't be disappointed and you'll pass this ladle on to your kids when you're gone!

I bought two of these for my dogs. I can hang them inside their open-top pen. I can reach inand deliver water/food without opening the pen.Plenty of room in the 32oz. Food and water, and good for the outside pen as well to deliver food without openingthe pen door. Don't usually need to but, if I had to have help, another person could spell me andI'd not have to worry about their letting the dogs loose accidentally.Over time, (years...8 years/) the aluminum will fatigue and the handle fall off, if I don't take care to position itso the dogs don't jump on it.For my purposes, the long handle works very well.I'd be thinking of stainless steele, but these were a good price and good solution. Definitely get the 16" handle.

When you buy a 3 gallon cauldron (advertised as the "Bayou Classic 7419 11-Quart Cast-Iron Jambalaya Pot/Deep Fryer with Domed Lid" but box says 3 gallon), a comically huge ladle is, of course, a necessity. This is, indeed, comically huge! I was able to fill 2 bowls of chili with one dip. It'll hold 32oz! That's a LOT of chili! It's aluminum, so weight isn't an issue. A couple of the edges weren't deburred, so they needed a light sanding. It cleaned up easily, even though I was a bit worried about the gap between the handle and the bowl.

Do not be deceived, this is a big ladle! The cup size is the size of a bowl. The metal is very soft aluminum and mine was dented in delivery. Too large for household kitchen use. Like they say, read the description before you purchase.

We were looking for a high-capacity ladle for food canning, something to prevent dribbles that happen while going back and forth between the cook pot and the canning jars. This thing sure does that OK. If you're looking for a HUGE ladle, this is it. As the description says, the bowl is 6 inches across. This works out to a scoop capacity of 3 cups.GOOD:Huge. One scoop fills 2 canning jars. Empties our slow cooker in 2 1/2 scoops. Fills a soup bowl with one (actually, less than one) scoop.Sturdy.BADHuge. Won't fit in any of our kitchen drawers. We keep it in the oven. Too big to empty pots completely -- can't get into the corners. You'll need a smaller ladle/ scoop to get out the last bits.
