We couldn't get the clamp off of the negative post. I decided to give this a try and it pulled the clamp off in just a minute. Very simple and effective. This battery was from a Ford F150 and they put complicated clamps on the posts that tighten with two triangular sliding blocks that in turn tighten the clamp. It is evident that the blocks tend to get stuck and don't slide, thus the clamp won't open. We found a great aftermarket replacement by Dorman that gets rid of the sliding blocks and that works great. Judging from internet comments, this Ford clamp design is very problematic. When the fitting was removed, we were able to return the battery core.

Very poorly built... I tried to remove Mustang wiper, but tool kept on slipping and eventually the pressing tip got damaged.

My battery terminal was completely stuck onto the battery post. Shop that replaced batteries last overtightened. Tried battery cleaner to clean off corrosion and sprayed a little lube. This puller pulled the terminal off. Damaged the post a bit but got the terminal off. I would place a washer or nut next time to prevent the post damage. Be nice if they included something like that with the puller. Would need to be small enough to get through the terminal.
