Works well, especially for the price. I took it out and cut some large branches right away when I received it because I was curious how well it would work, given it was under $7.It cut right through branches up to 3 in very quickly.Because the blade is thin and the handle is plastic I wouldn't put too much force behind it. But fortunately not much force is needed because it's very sharp and cuts very quickly.

Size is perfect for trimming tree branches too thick for pruning shears and loppers. Folds away for storage. Very satisfied.

I got this for trimming small branches that tend to get in my walking pathways. The unit handle is all plastic, with a metal blade (of course). The blade is very sharp to the touch. When unfolded, the blade locks into position. However, you can torque the blade a bit - meaning that it is not all that sturdy. This is also evident when using it to cut a branch - the blade wobbles slightly as you cut. I suspect that with a lot of use, the end holding the blade will eventually crack and fail.As far as cutting - even though the blade is very sharp - it still took quite a bit of effort to cut a branch that was about two inches thick - a lot had to do with the wobble, which ends up with cuts that are not necessarily on top of each other. To retract, push the lock button and move the blade back towards the handle. However, it stops at several other locations (if you don't keep holding the lock button). Not sure why those positions lock. You can also see the wobble issue as you bend the blade all the way back into the handle recess, as it wobbles and won't go in unless you hold it properly.
