About this item

  • Solid carbide tools offer long tool life and faster cutting speeds than other substrates, but are more brittle and must be used with rigid toolholding systems
  • Uncoated tools feature just the base substrate without any additional treatment or coatings and are suitable for a wide range of applications
  • Round shanks allow use with a wide variety of toolholding systems
  • When run in a counterclockwise direction (right-hand cut) spiral fluted tools evacuate chips up and out of the cut to reduce clogging
  • Applicable for steel, cast iron, nonferrous material
  • Made in the USA

I was able to do about 10 cuts on 321 stainless before the tool was wore out. The other name brand tool we had lasted for 200 cuts. Do not waste your money unless your chamfering aluminum or abs with these.

Not that chamfering is especially difficult, but this worked just fine on 6061 T6511. Indeed feels like solid carbide. Quick mic on the shank showed it accurate to 2 tenths.

Works excellent. Have been using on Aluminum and mild steel. Also used for engraving 316SS in a pinch, and it performed well a .004-.005 depth.

Just received this yesterday and my initial thoughts were that it was the wrong item. Upon reviewing the order it does in fact list in the details that this is a single end not a double end mill (as pictured). As of now I'm thinking of keeping it, but was surprised to see it was only single sided. This is something I would pretty much always prefer double to save money in carbide replacement/ sharpening.
