OMG…. I read the mixed reviews on this so I wasn’t sure what to expect. One of the reasons we chose the Boston terrier breed was because they weren’t supposed to bark that much. Our first (the girl in the back) wasn’t that much of a barker until the boy (in the front) joined the family. Until we got this piece of magic, they were barking at anything that moved outside (and there was a lot) and many sounds coming from our screens (beeps, barks, cries, etc.). It was becoming unbearable so I looked for tools I could use and found this one.Oh my goodness does it work. After about 2-3 days with it (maybe pressing the button a total of 7 times), all I have to say is “Do you want me to press the button” and they stop.Because I know barking is their way to alert us of danger and I don’t want legitimate alerts to stop, when I hear them bark now, I do the following1. Get up to look out the window if that’s where they are looking2. Tell them what they are seeing (wild animals are called “friends” and delivery people are called “deliveries”).3. Tell them, “Thank you for the alert.”4. If they stop barking, I say “Good quiet.”5. If they continue to bark, I say “Do you want me to press the button?”If what they are barking about is coming from a screen, the only thing I do differently is #1 & 2. Instead of doing them, I just say “It’s in the TV/phone/iPad.Seriously, I am sooooooooooooooo thankful for this thing even though they hate it and I felt guilty every time I pressed the button. The girl especially hates it. After pressing the button, she would go and hide in the hallway for a few hours by herself which is something she had never done in the past. When the boy barks and she thinks I might press the button (at least I think that’s what she is thinking), she runs up to me and smothers me with her little body. I think she’s trying to prevent me from being able to get it.During the first 3 days, I carried it with me everywhere and would show it when saying, “Do you want me to push the button?” I think that helped consolidate the association with barking and the button.”I have never been so thankful not to have to use something I purchased. Just the thread of it is enough and it has worked on a few other unwanted behaviors, too. Bonus!!!!!

PROs –• It’s super lightweight• Has a wrist strap• Comes with 9-volt battery. NOTE: The battery is in the battery compartment, but it’s wrapped in plastic and not plugged in.• A slider button to turn on just the flashlight.• Measures 5.375” tall x 2.25” wide x 1.125” thickCONs –• It did not work on my dog. He took mild notice of it the first time (but did not stop barking). Subsequent tries were useless. I might as well have been pointing a popsicle at him…which actually might have gotten his attention LOL• Note about my barker’s disposition. He is kind. He loves people. He is submissive to people (once he meets them). He hates other dogs. And he is protective of us and will bark at anyone or anything passing by. The boy just loves to just sit around and flap his lips.• The correction button is unprotected. If you carried this in your pocket, there’s a high chance that button will get pressed.

I have tried the product on various dogs and it doesn’t work at all. Absolutely no reaction from any of the dogs so I’m it doesn’t even have the ultrasonic feature. Also they do not allow exchange or replacement. So definitely not to be bought.

The products states that it doesn’t deliver instant results and I beg to differ. My husband ordered this and I admit that I laughed it off when it first arrived. We have 2 German Shepherds, both are well behaved except for one problem. Our 1.5 year old Shepherd sometimes starts barking excessively when he gets too excited during play and verbal commands get him even more excited which leads to more barking. He’s a very smart dog and very well trained otherwise, but getting him to stop barking when he was highly excited was the one thing that made us pull our hair out, because nothing worked.Armed with this training tool, I waited until our dog got too excited during play and started barking like a crazy madman and used this gadget, thinking that it would never work. To my surprise it worked instantly because my dog stopped and looked at me QUIETLY. I’ve only used Barx Buddy twice since we got it (because my dog’s excitement barking doesn’t happen frequently) and both times my dog stopped barking immediately. It might not work for every dog, but it definitely is a miracle tool for my dog.
