This bare copper wire is suitable for use in crafts or for electrical grounding wire use. This single-strand wire is annealed for improved ductility and meets QQ-W-343 standards for uninsulated copper wire. It also meets ASTM B3 standards for annealed copper wire and complies with Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) regulations. This copper wire is suitable for use in crafts such as jewelry and weaving or for uninsulated wiring applications.

Electrical wire carries an electric current or grounds an electrical device. The amount of current a wire can carry is proportional to its size (gauge), and the wire is generally sheathed with coatings and coverings to insulate and protect it from moisture, chemicals, heat, and abrasion. Copper is the primary material for electrical wire, but alloys are sometimes used to increase its strength or its resistance to chemicals and the environment. Wire can be composed of a single strand or of many smaller strands, depending on its use, and is typically annealed to improve its ductility. Electrical wire is commonly used in industrial, electronic, and automotive applications.

This is NOT .02" diameter wire - it's .053", see picture. Over twice the diameter specified and way too stiff for my application. The label on the spool actually says .02" also, but it is not correct. Had to return it.

Like buying larger rolls of copper from these folks. I'll do it more often. My copper jewelry and copper classes use alot of this stuff.

This wire did exactly what I intended it to. It bends and holds its shape nicely. A note to my fellow artisans... Make sure if you are doing wire art that you get copper wire that is tarnish resistant. I had to use gloves and tape working with this wire but that was my own fault because I did not read the description close enough. As long as I kept my gloves on the wire did not tarnish. It's not fair to take away a star because of my own mistake.

I like this wire for it's level of hardness and workability. I gave it a 4 because it doesn't seem to have a tarnish resistance coating, meaning another step in my process.

Good quality, affordable copper wire. I use it for making wire wrapped jewelry and it works well. Oxidized nicely too

This is a lot of wire. I got it just to make rx antennas for my tiny whoops. And yeah it works and is quite sturdy :P

Ordered 24 gauge wire. This is no smaller than 12 gauge wire. In the picture the red wire is 28 gauge and the bare wire is what we ordered. Not an accurate description.

As always, Small Parts offers good copper wire at a great price. If you're used to heavier wire, 24 gauge seems to mark the transition from sturdy wire to fine wire. Still, 24 gauge beats out thinner gauges for light wrappings over heavier wire. No matter the gauge, I haven't found a better way to buy copper wire than on these affordably priced, large-quantity spools for (shhh!) jewelry-making.

The wire came as described and I am very happy. I use this to solder connections for LED strips and it works great for my application. The wire is soft and bends quickly and stays bent.
