- Pull push type, linear motion, open frame, plunger spring return, DC solenoid electronmagnet.
- DC Solenoid Electromagnet mainly used in vending machines, transport equipment, office facility household appliance, mechanical, etc.
- Solenoids of this category work externally through pulling pushing in plunger.
- When energized, doing work through pulling pushing in plunger joined object.

This little coil draws close to an amp of current when powered at 12VDC. The coil gets HOT and when using for continuous operation, it quickly burns itself out and becomes inoperable. When it is working, the return spring is very weak and not able to quickly return.

Used for DIY pinball machinenice solenoid, works as advertised but the return spring is too weak and the solenoid will not return to rest position if there is any kind of mechanical resistance. I hacked my way around this issue by removing the circlip and extending the springs to give them more return force. Some binding of the shaft in the core but when rotated I was able to find a loose enough spot for my application

Stronger than expected. The pull strength is directly proportional to input voltage. But, it does have a small spring, so the push/return is relatively weak. While the spring is adequate, even a small resistance can prevent it from fully returning; however, the spring looks easy to replace with a stronger one, if necessary.

The unit I received came with no threaded holes, under the magnifier looks like the thread was there or the treading bit was damaged. Resorted to use gorilla glue to fix it.Those complaining about the coil draining too much current must understand that to get mechanical force you need to provide enough equivalent electic energy, the power conversion won't be 100% either, be happy with about 40 to 50%. There is no free lunch!.For the same reason the coil will eventually get hot. These cheap solenoids are intended for momentary action.

It works, but is weak as others have reported. Understandably, the forced of a solenoid is not linear over its entire stroke. The pull force is very weak at the beginning to stroke, and the stated force is likely applicable to just last few millimeters. One irritating design flaw is the location of the screw holes on the housing, which is located facing the center of the solenoid coil. If the mounting screws are too long, they will gouge into the solenoid coil.

It is too small for the job I have, so I have ordered a larger one, which will arrive tomorrow. I did not know if the little one would do the job or not.
