The product is not at all as advertised. Just a simple battery & that too it came in an awkward packaging. As soon as I saw the product & packaging, I applied gor refund.

I bought 2 batteries. Here's what I found:- USB C port is at the bottom of the the battery making it easier to charge when the battery is connected to the radio while the radio is in a belt/vest.- Radio does operate while charging.- Radio does transmit while charging.- Fully charged 8.2v- Runtime is slightly less than stock battery.- Fits Baofeng without modification.- Use a 90 degree angled USB C to 90 degree angled USB C to connect the radio battery to a power bank for charging while belt/vest mounted. Consider coiled cables as well.- Connect to a power bank to achieve significantly longer runtimes.Recommend - Buy

Compré la batería porque la otra ya estaba inflada y se descompuso el cargador de base que viene por defecto, me gustó que se pueda cargar con USB, así se puede cargar en el carro también. Recomiendo el producto, ya que llegó bien y la duración es como la del original que ya viene con el radio.

I bought 3 of these batteries. Two of them were for powering Baofeng UV-5R type radios and the other to repower a Kenwood TH-D7A. These batteries allow USB charging for the UV-5R and after gutting the original Kenwood UV-5R battery pack I now have an upgraded capacity, reliable battery pack for my Kenwood HT that I can charge anywhere without the cradle.

Used it on a off road drives of 2-3 hours each and never ran out of battery. Must have for longer drives if you carry only one radio and need to charge on the go.

This weighs a little less than the original battery, which had the same 1800mah capacity rating. This appears to have the same size & shape as the original. Somehow, they managed to squeeze a charging circuit along with the batteries into the same space that the original used for just the batteries. The space needed for the charge system & the reduced weight makes me suspect that this battery pack May have slightly less actual capacity compared to the original. That being said, this is just a suspicion. I did not do side by side discharge tests. This battery does last a full day of average use for me. The USB-C charging feature is what led me to pay 3/4 of the cost of a radio with a battery pack for just this battery pack. Charging from dead flat with the USB-C port, it took 2 hours & 10 minutes for the green light to come on, indicating a full battery pack. With a dead flat battery, the radio will operate from power being fed to the USB-C port on the battery. 7.5 volts left in the battery is pretty darn low, regardless of what the bar graph on the radio says. At 7.4 volts, the radio still operates, but the time you have left is VERY short before the radio shuts off. I am very happy that I can charge this in the car with no cradle. If I need another battery for this radio, I would probably get this one again. The larger capacity ones with the USB charger are bigger & heavier than I want. If I needed 2 days of run time capacity, I might get the larger one or I might get a second one like this to swap out.
