VEGETARIAN LOVERS

Tofu may be a delicious food – and a must-have in many vegan recipes.

But it takes some real effort to use it. Because it’s wet, you usually can’t just toss it into any recipe as-is.

OPTIMAL TASTE AND TEXTURE

Dried tofu will result in a crispier and firmer texture when you eat it.

Most homes might do this using paper towels and weights, but that’s such a struggle.

If you’re serious about having tofu being your meat replacement, we believe having a tofu press will ease your life in the kitchen.

Times for Pressing

Please following the suggestion times for pressing depending on what you are making:

  • 15-30 mins: For sauces, smoothies, chocolate mousse or cheesecakes.
  • 1-2 hours: For pasties, quiches and pies.
  • 4 hours to overnight: For stir-fries, kebabs and baked tofu.

Tips: Even though you only have 10 minutes to pressing, it will better than no pressing.

  • 15-20 Minutes Job
  • Natural Look

Did not last a year, cracked (see photo) hand washed hand dried, also a pain to use tedious to screw it unscrew it. Tiny piece of bamboo glued together how healthy can that be especially if the glue is dissolving in water. At least they were willing to give me a refund with the warranty.

I highly recommend this product. I received it just a few hours ago, tried to assemble myself and realized I needed to watch the video provided on Amazon with assembly instructions. I pressed my tofu, prepared and stir fried as I usually do. The end product was outstanding! Expressing the water out of tofu with this press brought my tofu to a level I had not been able to achieve, even when pressing under several cast iron skillets. The press is beautiful, we'll built. I will leave it on counter for display.

Is annoying to use and the manufacturing quality of the threaded rods you wind the wingnuts down to press the tofu is poor. Threads are tight and lots of sharp burrs and metal shards. It works better if you set a brick on top of it

This is a sturdy tofu press that works well at a reasonable price. Perfect for you if you want a press that isn’t plastic.

I chose this product because it was made of bamboo instead of plastic. I think it looks great. It's easy to use and did a great job. Cleaning was simple after using it. I'm very pleased with it.

Overall, it's a really good press. Bamboo and no plastic is a huge bonus!Small downside - It's a little annoying to have to twist the winged bolts as much as you need to, and it's a little tricky to keep it level. (One side is typically further down than the other)Main downside - It does a good job collecting the water, but with ours, the water then goes through the bamboo and gets onto the counter. We have a little drying rack that covers part of our sink, so when we're able to we put the tofu press on that that way when the bottom half gets really wet, it drips into the sink and not onto the counter, but this is actually quite annoying. It's much better and healthier than plastic, so that's a big bonus. It does a great job with the tofu as well which, when it's all said and done, is what it's meant to do. (I'd argue that since you're able to use the winged bolts to make it tighter, it actually does a better job than most plastic ones). But the leaking is frustrating.

The poles, are actually long screw type fixtures. While this helps of course with allowing the turning of the nut bolt, it did not allow for smooth pushing down or pulling up on the top part in order to have it meet with or pull it away from the actual tofu. If you did get one side to move the other side didn't move equally. Too hard to use. I believe that it was very easy to clean because I did try it the once and I did wash it before I sent it back. For me it cost too much for the trouble and not worth it.

I’m trying to rid my life of as much plastic as possible. I just hate the thought of all those plastics messing up the environment and getting into our bodies as well. For the past year or so, whenever I look at purchasing anything, I go for renewable and biodegradable materials, like bamboo. This press, fit that description.I’ve been pressing my tofu by wrapping it in a towel and placing heavy objects on top of it and I will say that it has never done half as good of job as this press has! This press will take your tofu to another level.Assembly, I thought, was a no-brainer, even though there were no instructions, it wasn’t hard to figure out. Cleaning is easy and storage is just fine. The appearance is beautiful. It matches all my bamboo cutting boards and I feel better using bamboo, which isn’t really wood, but a reed/grass that grows remarkably fast therefore it’s easily renewable. My understanding of bamboo is that it has it’s own anti-microbial properties, but you should make sure you dry it well before storing it and don’t allow water to sit on it. I don’t believe it is treated, but I don’t think there is any reason to treat it. None of my other bamboo kitchen items are treated and they do just fine. That’s about all I have to say. I can’t imagine anyone being disappointed with it. Tofu is such a cheap and cruelty-free source of protein, and you don’t even have to cook it! I’ve started buying more of it since I got this press and I now enjoy working with tofu all the more.
