These are great to go with any extruded aluminum setups!

I have no idea why these claim to fit 4040 series aluminum extrusion. They are way too small and do not stay in place. I've purchased these from other places that claim to fit 4040 series but they all seem to send the same smaller size. I don't know if there is something that I am missing, but they fall right out and move all over the place.

I have a 40 series profile sim rig from Advanced Sim Racing. I wanted to mount my VRS pedals to the rig, but you have to use 5 or 6mm bolts as 8mm are too large. I'm a huge fan of the spring ball style and these did not disappoint. I had no issues fitting them in my profile and the 6mm bolts threaded nicely into these. These were decently priced and I highly recommend them.

These are very nice T-nuts for a 8mm channel (4040), and are threaded for a M6 bolt. Seem equal in quality to those from 80/20. The spring loaded balls on the back provide enough tension with the wall of the slot so these don't slide around so easily in the slot, which is nice so you can position the nut where you need it. All the nuts were usable and top quality.

I checked them all - all are good. Normally, you use M8 threaded t slot nuts with 4040 or 8020 rails and it really makes sense, logistically to have everything you can use the M8 threads. What I need these smaller ones for is for mounting other stuff. For example, power strips. My favorite power strips require an M5 screw, which means no luck even with these M6 threaded ones. Regardless, -not- having to open a hole past M6 makes for cleaner easier builds.Regardless of all that - these are some of the good ones. Totally worth it.

Building my own gear with 4040 rail, I've always used standard t-nuts. The problem is when you're trying to connect something and the nut slides well and gone away. The little spring-loaded ball bearing that keeps tension against the side walls seems like it's going to help a lot , from my initial eval.Definitely more expensive than standard flat t-nuts, but they're also a lot thicker and beefy.Over all, I'm looking forward to using them. I can save them for specific mounting needs rather than replace t-nuts entirely.

I like using 4040 rails as quick mounts for my bench grinders. It's easier to remove and replace the entire grinder than it is to change out wheels, so I have a stack of 3 grinders and I use these nuts to secure the grinder to the rails, and then a quick-change post lever on each rail to secure the rails to the workbench anchored to the floor. These do the job, just be sure you're using 4040 and not 8040

There's not a whole lot to these. They're sized right, they seem durable, and they just work.Important note for people, though, who may not know it -- these are T-slot, not V-slot sized. 2020, 2040, 4040 extrusions look similar, but these fit the 8mm slot width of T-slot, not the 6mm of V-slot. So you're not using these with a 3D printer (which are all almost exclusively V-slot).
