Not sure about any bactericidal properties, but it seems to extend the life of my humidifier filters a bit. This is important, as our humidifier runs 24 / 7 in the winter months, and we go through a lot of costly filters.Then again, I haven't done a cost analysis: cost of an extra filter or two each year vs the cost of this product.

I have a Boneco S450 Steam Humidifier.I've used this liquid with only city tap water in the steam humidifier.. didn't help keep the buildup away. So....I used this liquid with water from my Aquasana FILTER on city tape water... didn't see a difference with, or without using this liquid on buildup. (Even though the buildup was less overall using water from my filter, there was no noticeable difference in buildup when this liquid was added; in small AND large amounts.)I've gone as far as using 1 cup of this liquid for 3 gallons of filtered city water to see if it would help .. and still had the same amount of buildup.Plus, this aditive has a weird smell.. not bad, but.. not pleasant either..I will not be purchasing it again..In my opinion, the only solution for reducing buiIup would be to use only distilled water... but that can be expensive..I've gone though 4 containers of this stuff to try different variations, and still had the same results. No Bueno..

Perfect water for my husbands CPAP machine. Don’t want to worry about germs building up in the CPAP water tank. This works wonderfully

Unfortunately you can't really use a wicking humidifier without this stuff.It does what it's supposed to.Just wish it cost less.
