The design is a bit simple, but well built, a simple mason jar net cups and river stones would work as that’s essentially the same as this. It functions as it’s intended but I wouldn’t purchase again because building my own would be cheaper. For newbies it’s worth its value, but as a seasoned gardener it doesn’t really serve much purpose as I have most of the same stuff on hand. The stones it comes with leaves the plant loose.

Followed directions and it does not look dead. Easy to set up directions. Been in about 2-3 weeks, getting ready for water change and some fertalizer

I'm just not sure about this pot, I'm pretty sure it's working well for my Christmas cactus a friend gave me that was already hydroponic. I really didn't like the instructions they were for only if your cactus was in dirt already (which mine wasn't) I wish they had instructions for already hydroponic plants so I hope I did it right. The pictures shows that it comes with green bean seeds. It doesn't (3rd picture) must be for a different product. I have always had a hard time caring for plants so I'm hoping the cactus stays looking healthy it's doing good so far.

We have a sizable succulent and cacti collection and this make a trouble-free way to promote roots in off-shoots in these plants. Basically this system features a perforated grow pot with a large wick extending from the bottom of the pot that is filled with clay pellets to support the root system of the succulent.Add water to the basket to within 1" of the bottom of the basket so that the wicks are the only thing touching the water. This kit comes with clearly written instructions and tips for your success. A bonus to this kit is that if you submit a picture of your succulent or cacti in this set up, Back to the Roots will donate a kit to an elementary school classroom of your choice. I look forward to our first succulent to thrive in this system and take a picture so our daughter who teaches 1st grader and 2nd graders can use this in her classroom! Clear and step by step instructions are Grade A+!

It came with everything you need to start growing. It works but doesn’t look very attractive and I would not gift this to someone. Definitely not worth the money
