The figures are removable, fun extra toys. My boy loves its basic colors and shapes. The music variety is nice and plays smooth tones. Remote takes a few attempts of pressing to operate. Only down side is the 3 AAAs are spent in less than 2 weeks of once or twice a day use.

*Edited to say BATTERIES IN MOBILE DIE in about a week, without usung music feature.The reviews are mixed, so after reading them I took a chance. I knew there might be some issues, but still wanted this mobile because there are no others like it. #1 I had zipties ready to secure the piece that was often separated at the seam, this one was as well, zipties did the trick. #2 I attached it to the foot of the pack & play so it's not right over the baby's face, common sense. #3 It is not intended for babies to grab the rattles while hanging over their face spinning, again common sense. #4 The lowest setting of music is still too loud so I mute it and use his musical stuffie we've been using. #5 Babies don't care if a few stars are distorted, they know no different. #5 The stars project on the wall and ceiling just fine, he LOVES this mobile, you can turn the ufo to adjust where it projects, you just have to fine tune it while it's rotating, you'll figure it out. #6 The remote only works about 3ft away but it's still better than using the buttons on the hanging ufo. #7 It's so easy to assemble, you don't need directions if you're handy. #8 The plastic construction is a little cheap but it's also only $33 so we get what we pay for, don't set your expectations too high and then complain. #9 You'll need AA & AAA batteries, it comes with a tiny screwdriver which was a pleasant surprise. #10 Once your baby is sitting up, pulling up and standing You'll need to lower the mattress and remove the rattles to prevent the baby from pulling the mobile down even though they can play with the ufo and rattles, there are other components that may not be safe to play with or put in their mouth. Overall, I'm not disappointed because the baby loves it, and it keeps him occupied for quiet self play, and squealing and kicking his feet until he falls asleep!

He likes to talk to the animals. A lot of songs. I don't use the light feature so I can't say anything about it, overall I am very pleased with it. I do wish it was more affordable, I would buy another for his crib but not at that price

It only shines stars on one side, the grip hold piece that latches onto the crib...it only widens out so far not ideal for thick wooded cribs or any wide sided cribs just made for standard thin cribs...it didn't fit our wood sleigh crib it was to small ...also the dangling middle piece it's not contructed very safe it literally just falls right apart it doesnt stay attached I had to bread tie it lol...just so it wont fall on the baby? Like come on now lolol....some how the bird in the middle still seems to fall right off cause the middle hanger just keeps sliding down lol an it just seems like it's gonna be a challenge to get this sent back or even a refund cause they don't have any special spot to push like "Rate this Item" anywhere from what I see you've got to dig lol...just saying.

This is a really fun mobile for a baby..my 6 month old really loves it when I put him in his crib & start this. His whole face lights up & he goes to sleep after a couple of minutes. I'm not sure if he sees the light on the wall because it's so dim, but I did put an S hook in it because it is aimed directly across from the mobile. So if you have the crib along a wall, it doesn't work well without the S hook. Also, the hook for the unit itself is not as secure as the one at the top. Not sure why they wouldn't make them both the same, but this could actually fall on the baby. Not a deal breaker because he likes it so much, but something they really should rectify.The remote control only works if you hold it 8 inches or closer....kind of dumb.He is now 11 months & as soon as he could pull himself up to stand he was pulling on this mobile & it came crashing down since the bottom hook is not secure like the top hook is. So I bought a plant hanger & screwed it onto the wall to raise it higher to keep out of his reach. Just be prepared, but maybe all of them hang this low? But the plant hanger works & now I can use it again because it's the cutest one I've seen on Amazon! So that's why the 5 stars even though it could use improvement.
