Our toddler is a very active sleeper and loves to stretch out in the bed. We made this purchase to give him the opportunity to sleep more comfortably and safely at night.Easy to assemble, sturdy and can hold a good amount of weight. I am lucky to found a good quality one.

I purchased this rail to keep my elderly father from rolling out of bed. I like it because there is really very little way in which he could become entangled in it. It was pretty easy to put together--it helps that the pieces came bagged together and labeled. The most difficult thing was stretching the tension straps between the mattress and the box spring by myself--it would have helped to have an extra set of hands to lift the mattress--but I was able to solve it by stretching the strap as far under the mattress as I could on one side and then using a long stick to help me move it far enough to the other side that I could grab it. It was challenging to get the straps taut enough, but I ended up tying the ends together to pull it more tightly. I particularly like the extended length, which fits one side of the queen bed completely.

I got this to supplement the built in rail on my preschooler's loft bed since her mattress came within a couple of inches of the top of that rail and a fall would be quite bad. I wanted the extra security and peace of mind of a better/taller rail, so I searched quite some time for a tall bed rail that would accommodate the mattress height and provide enough rail above and beyond to stop falls. This seemed like a great solution and after a lot of work, I think it will be fine. The assembly is simple enough that a basic spatial awareness will enable one to put it together quickly... Provided the parts aren't like the ones I received. The tubes click together using holes and spring button links, but one of the parts was too long, making it necessary to trim it down to fit. Not something I expect to need to do for the price. Also, the fabric of the cover feels like the cheap toy tent from my childhood. Be careful during assembly because it gets very tight (supposed to) and if you don't watch it, you could easily rip the fabric with the end of the poles, especially if you have to trim one and it's no longer smooth on the end. That said, I managed to make it work and I think it will do the job, especially as I installed it inside the built in rail. I'll sleep better knowing my child couldn't roll off if she tried. In all, it works but I shouldn't have had to struggle to make up for the quality control issues and the fabric is very cheap for the price I paid.

I have a 10mo crawler/cruiser that we took on a camping trip in our pop-up camper. The weather forecast was lots of rain, which meant we probably would be holed up in the camper the whole time. This little guy loves to move, but there isnt much floor space, and the little that there is is usually dirty and or being used by others moving around.I needed a solution to give my baby a play area.In comes the bed rail! This bed rail can be disassembled for compact storage, which was a must have in the pop-up camper. It also needed to be able to be secure without the use of screws. This one has a long strap that runs under the mattress and anchors to the opposite side of the bed. We also went ahead and ran it under the canvas to the outside of the bunk end for extra security since it isnt a real mattress. The length was perfect for the popup. There is about 12 inches left, which we put all at one end of the rail so that we and big brother could easily climb in and out of the bed when needed. We just blocked the opening with a duffel bag or other item so baby couldnt crawl out. There is definitely some wiggle slack to this bed rail, but it seemed sturdy enough for the 10mo baby that i wasnt concerned if he leaned on it. We just made sure that big brother knew not to lean on it.This rail made this bunk end bed into a giant playpen. Baby could have the whole bed to crawl and play with his toys, and mom had the piece of mind that he couldnt fall off, and had the freedom to get things done.As you can see in the pic, the height of the rail was perfect. The popup mattress is only a few inches thick, so with a real mattress, the height would not work for preventing babies from climbing over it.As a bonus, I was able to fold the bed rail down so that it lays under the mattress when we got ready to pack up to go home. This means that I dont have to disassemble it everytime. It only bumped the mattress up a couple inches where the "feet" of the rail is under the mattress, so the popup had no trouble closing up.Because of the lip of the bed slide frame, we are unable to use the swing down feature when used in this situation.

Happy with the product so far. Metal frame but plastic pieces for under the mattress but should work fine. Ah but then there was assembly. Three issues. All the pieces but one fit together nicely (by the way the short piece fits between two longer and goes on the bottom). One piece was not machined well and had to use Dremel diamond bit (rat tail file would have worked) to smooth. Then went together fine. Only one joint was a problem fortunately. Next item was putting on the mesh. No description but best to assemble the top and one side then slide up and over doing the bottom at the end. But alas once you get to the last part to put together it was very difficult. I had to get a small Philips head screwdriver and put inside tube to pull and then put on floor to pull the last piece so could finish the assembly. Last item is that the flip up connections are great but I had to use metal nail file to compress to get to go together easily. Fingers and fingernails did not always work. All that said it was not that difficult once I figured out the various issues and hope that this helps someone else who is putting one together. Good luck!
