Not snap caps, but rather precisely dimensioned, functional dummies; A-Zoom training rounds are CNC machined from solid aluminum and hard anodized. A-Zoom .22 Rimfire dummies are widely used for Hunter education and teaching safe firearms handling. Gunsmiths rely on them, too! A-Zoom 22 long rifle action proving DUMMY rounds are designed to teach safe firearms handling. They are not snap caps. They may be worked through the actions of any 22 long rifle for function testing. Dry firing will deform the head and will limit their use to 4 or 5 hits.

Consider these used to be disposable, really I guess I wish I had ones that had rubber rims. Dry firing a rim fire onto these will chew them up very very quickly.

I wanted these so that I could prevent dry firing my semi auto when my magazine ran out. They are so soft that the rim distorted badly after second use and it got stuck in my tubular magazine.I will try the stainless steel one next

DO NOT BUY THESE. I do not understand how they have 5 stars. This is a complete waste of money. They’re advertised as snap caps. So, I bought them for dry fire training for long range precision with my 22. However, even before I dry fired them, they wouldn’t cycle in my CZ457. CZ457s are known for their reliability in precision rimfire sports. I’ve never had a live round of any brand fail to feed in that rifle. They are NOT the product that is advertised in the video. Not even close. I threw mine straight in the trash. I don’t want to damage a $60 magazine or my chamber or bolt with this garbage. I cannot believe this product is sold by a reputable brand.

I like these aluminum caps. The warning ⚠️ states they are not snap caps but a training aid. For my purpose are very useful to test the .22 firing pin strike. The pic shows my new .22 Buckmark with the heavy wide primer strike. The 2 smaller primer strikes are my older .22 American Arms PK22. They are 2 light strikes which clarified my occasional failure to fire. After a few uses they need to be discarded. Otherwise they are a great firing pin strike tester.

As others have pointed out the packaging is mislabeled. In fact, it's correctly-labeled AND mislabeled. On both sides of the package in small print it correctly states these rounds are not snap caps. Yet also on both sides of the package, in larger boldface text it also says "SNAP CAPS". Why?? From reading other reviews I knew better prior to ordering, but why be intentionally confusing and potentially misleading?Anyway, as dummy rounds they're well made and work fine. These are VERY light and ideally it would be nice to have dummy rounds of approximately the same weight as real rounds for operational testing, etc. So why not mill them from steel instead of aluminum? Anyway, these are well made otherwise.

The dummy rounds have a hole in the rear surface. When the elevator tries to raise the round, the point on the front of the round will catch in the hole of the next round in the tube, causing the round to misfeed most of the time. I had to grind off the point and reshape the bullet nose to get the rounds to cycle.

I liked this as it protects the rim of the barrel. Awesome product for sure!

Of course you're going to be using live rounds at some point or otherwise these would be meaningless. What they're useful for is getting comfortable with loading, clearing, etc. Good old fashioned practice without shooting yourself in the foot. Once you're done with these you can comfortably graduate to the real thing. The blue color is a definite clue these are practice rounds.

These are excellent for practice loading and unloading but will be damaged if you pull the trigger. They will deform where the hammer strikes and then will not feed properly so do not hammer them... Otherwise they are nice.
