Let me start out by saying this thing works great. It has enough power to easily jumpstart my truck with a large battery in it. I left some Bluetooth devices on over a week when it was snowing. Came out to flat deal battery. It wouldn’t even click click click. Straight up dead! However, it jump started the truck right up with no hesitation. The unit is compact enough that I can stow it in the rear side compared of my Avalanche. I would say it’s a good value for the money. After using it I feel confident in its abilities and am glad I bough it. . Only has one issue and it’s that these jumper cables are not made for side post batteries. They have a plastic housing that sticks out pretty far. So the actual teeth that make the connection don’t reach well at all. It would be perfect for a top post battery. But it came off several times while I was trying to walk around and get in the driver seat which was annoying since it was 30° outside. The best bet is to grind away the plastic on the side a little so it slides further onto the batteries post. A Dremel should makes easy work of it. I was able to get it to stay on after several attempts. But I am planning on grinding the side down when I get a chance. I’ll post pictures to help show what I mean once it’s done. Either way, I would recommend it if you’re in the market.

Works well as long as the battery is not completely dead. Truck set for months and battery dropped to 5 volts, this unit did nothing. Had to charge battery with corded charger. Works well if battery is not below about about 10 volts. As long as you get the green light to come on, it will start about anything with gusto. I would rate it a 10 if I could.

UPDATE: 01-02-25: Replacement unit was put to the test 3x over. Started a nearly completely dead, subfreezing 6.2L without hesitation, twice in the same day. Also jumped my 6.5 Turbo Diesel twin battery without a hiccup (still on a single charge). My Toyota 3.0L V6's battery decided it wanted to fail too and was only holding a few volts, but the AVAPOW 6000 didn't even blink, provided full power and it cranked over almost immediately after hook-up. I'd feel comfortable recommending this to anyone with a potential need to jump larger diesels and gassers, and pretty much anything 10L and lower. this is for 12V applications, not 24V, so keep that in mind when purchasing. It's been working like a champ and still cranking our vehicles over, even on single-digit Fahrenheit freezing days. If you have electrical issues beyond alternator/battery, use caution to avoid further damaging your vehicle/electricals.UPDATE: 12-19-24: AVAPOW's customer service reached out to me several times and has been outstanding. The replacement units have been working exactly as advertised and AVAPOW has been very supportive and accommodating. It appears that my first unit may very well have just been defective, which happens with any mass-produced item. The subsequent jump starters (A68-6000A models) have both worked well and without issue. I was also offered an extended warranty from AVAPOW as a sign of good faith and customer support commitment. At this point, I feel inclined to recommend the AVAPOW A68/6000A jump starter and power supply. Read the manufacturer's directions, and test the unit and charge it for a minimum of 6 hours/until fully charged upon receipt then put it through it's paces (in accordance with the manufacturer directions, because these do have a "duty cycle" of use/cool-down periods for repeated starting attempts. Duly earned 4 stars for excellent customer service and fully operational replacement units.UPDATE: 12-2-2024: AVAPOW's customer service has been great. I really wanted to give the benefit of the doubt and try a second unit. By comparison to the first unit I bought, the 2nd unit has worked fine. Took a charge without issue from a Samsung USB-C quick charger, and handled starting a pretty low (9 VDC approx.) single battery 6.2L V8 on a cold night (sub-freezing). The second AVAPOW 6000 is currently working as advertised and no issues so far. We'll see how it does in it's next real-world scenario, but so far, so good. Gained a star for customer service and reliable replacement unit. If the next real-world test goes well (and it works), It'll have earned a 4th star. Boost function works, please note that this unit does have limitations and recommended usage guidance, so be sure to read the manual.

EPIC FAIL of AVAPOW 6000 . . . repeatedly upon first use. In contrast, my GOOLOO 4000 unit worked just fine as it ALWAYS HAS. Buy the GOOLOO 4000 instead. I have BOTH UNITS. Get the GOOLOO. Avoid the AVAPOW.1. Received AVAPOW 6000. 2. Charged fully it overnight 3. Had dead battery on 2011 Porsche Cayenne (park lights malfunction drains battery(. 4. Connected the Avapow 6000 to jump start battery on car. 5. Got the GREEN (“ready”) light INITIALLY on the Avapow. 6. Turned over car and for the first second or two had fully power from Avapow. 7. Then . . . power from Avapow cuts out . . . car doesn’t start. 8. Avapow unit “trips” from GREEN to BLUE (beeps) . . . and no power from unit. 9. Removed the AVAPOW cables from unit and reinserted and got GREEN light again (resets unit from BLUE to get the GREEN “ready” light back) 10. Tried to start again and same result . . . 1 second of power then AVAPOW unit “trips” . . . power lost . . . BLUE light triggered. 11. Tried this 4-5 times. SAME RESULT. 12. Fortunately retrieved my GOOLOO 4000 jumper out of truck (similar and main competitor to AVAPOW. I got this AVAPOW unit ONLY because of the advertised 6000 amp ability. GOOLOO has units up to 4000 amp capacity). 13. My GOOLOO 4000 unit started the Porsche immediately no problem. I literally had a real life situation and BOTH of these units (fully charged) on hand. The AVAPOW 6000 failed . . . repeatedly . . . likely due to some weird circuitry “trip wire” in the AVAPOW being trigger (upon engaging the ignition for more than 1 second) for WHO KNOWS WHAT REASON???? resulting in AVAPOW “status” going from GREEN to BLUE light (a LED STATUS light on the AVAPOW) resulting in no power from the AVAPOW once the BLUE light is “tripped.”. My GOOLOO 4000 ALWAYS “works like a champ” (I’ve had for years) and jumped the Porsche Cayenne no problem. AND the GOOLOO, unlike the AVAPOW, has a “boost button” a very cool feature when starting “really dead” batteries on large diesel trucks.. The AVAPOW is . . . just too “glitchy” “buggy” and has “weird mystery circuitry” features that make it so it becomes “an unusable brick” when you need it. The AVAPOW 6000 is NOT READY FOR PRIMETIME (need to fix glitchy circuitry). Buy the GOOLOO 4000 instead. I have BOTH UNITS and the GOOLOO 4000 has ALWAYS WORKED (I jumped totally dead Ford F-350 Diesel w/2 batteries in sub-zero temps, only 2 of 4 bars worth of charge, NO PROBLEM 🙌). I’ve had GOOLOO 4000 for 2+ years and it always “just works” when you need it. The AVAPOW 6000 upon “first use” was an epic fail. (I’m a mechanic for a major construction contractor. I KNOW how to use devices like this). Returning the AVAPOW 6000 and getting another GOOLOO 4000 instead. The GOOLOO 4000 is a tried, tested, and consistently proven reliable workhorse. I really wanted to like the AVAPOW 6000 due to the increase amp capacity. But . . . all those “amps on paper . . . and in theory” do you NO GOOD if “glitchy circuitry” in the AVAPOW causes it to immediately “trip” from “GREEN” (ready) to BLUE (problem/no power) after turning ignition over for more than 1 second.
