To start with, I accept fault for my dissatisfaction.While comparing smoke machines I went with version 2. I didn't realize I'd selected the item that came with no attachments, without which I couldn't use the device as I had intended.As a whole the machine functions to its capacity. Makes lots of smoke for its size. Just be aware version 2 simply comes with a barb style connector whereas version one comes with the evap port connector, exhaust connector, etc. Version 2 I would not recommend for turbo engines as it times out before it produces enough smoke to fully verify system integraty, even if running the second 5 minutes before it needs a cool down period.Considering a "pro" level machine would run you around 500 dollars, this is a decent deal for the occasional light duty use.

The smoke machine is easy to use. The directions are easy to follow. I like the quality of this machine it’s designed well. The smoke helps find leaks in your evap system. I would recommend this for the quality and the ease of use

As a professional automotive technician I use smoke machines quite often. At work I have access to a very expensive machine that works with nitrogen. I use smoke machines to find evap leaks, intake/vacuum leaks and even turbo leaks. For my home shop this tool is invaluable and compact and makes sense at a fraction of the cost of a larger unit.This machine is pretty basic. The smoke hose and power cord plug into the main unit. It has a hook for hanging and a simple 2 buttons to operate. The unit has an onboard compressor. This kit includes a bottle of fluid for smoke creation that is filled from the top. This smoke machine works well, is well built and worthy of 5 stars.

These smoke machines are whats needed to find a vacuum leak on computerized cars. Old way of using carb cleaner etc doesn’t work due to computer adjusting air fuel ratio rate too fast. Used the provided smoke fluid but didn’t get much smoke at first, then I switched to baby oil in the machine and it worked great. Machine is easy to move and store, worked good for me. Price is around one dealership labor hour, so I feel the price is fair.

I am really glad this thing works so well. Smoke machines are really handy for dagnosing EVAP leaks on cars these days. I have always wanted a compact one for home use and this was the perfect size.It works exactly as expected. Some folks say it doesn't make smoke. The smoke juice it came with is pretty bad. It doesn't work very well at all, but you can get smoke machine fluid from your local parts store and use the one that works to your expectation.I use baby oil. It smokes like crazy. I also found some good smoke liquid on amazon too.I appreciate the little compressor in there that pumps up the system so you don't have to add shop air. That's really nice.I would highly recommend.
