Most of the time replacing a transmission filter is spent removing the transmission pan and draining the fluid, it's not a difficult process.
If you are comfortable with removing the pan, popping out the old filter and installing a new filter, and then using the correct pan gasket to reseal the transmission.

The filter worked, but I was sent the wrong gasket. The gasket provided did not fit 42re transmission on my 98 Dakota. Didn’t realize until I was ready to put everything back together. Had to make an extra trip to the parts store. A little frustrating.

Filter is a direct replacement. Did not use the gasket as I have the reusable gasket that has been leak free for 300,000 + miles.
