Not being a mechanic, I'm not sure how useful this stool would be to someone working on a car since it sits pretty low, even at full extension. Then again, I don't work on cars.It works for me and my needs when I'm doing things in the garage or around the house.The assembly is easy, and the result is a sturdy stool. The wheels roll easily, but I don't know about their durability. For my garage and house, they will be fine since it's all smooth surfaces.The reason for the four stars as opposed to five is that the seat itself doesn't feel as if it's supported across the full width.This means that when you are sitting on it, the center portion —about halfway from the center to the edge— feels well supported, but the outer part of the seat feels like it has little to no support. It almost feels like I'm sitting on a smaller seat than the actual width of the seat, giving the impression of being perched instead of seated. I've looked at the construction and don't see a reason for it, but that's how it feels. I suppose I will get used to it.To recap, this is a decent stool that fits my needs. The seat could offer a bit more support, but that's not a deal-breaker for me since it's only for occasional use. The trays are a bit small for some of my power tools, but they're functional enough.

This is a good low height mechanic still that’s easy to assemble and fairly sturdy. It takes a few minutes to put together and is pretty obvious how it goes together. It is pretty sturdy and the weight estimate seems accurate. Overall, a good solid basic stool.

We ordered this Auto Dynasty mechanic's stool waaaaaayyyyyy back on December 1st. Once ordered, we were amazed that the expected delivery date was 12/31 through 1/15! If we had only known it would take so long to receive, we would have chosen a different product. Our stool didn't ship until last week, thus the product was on backorder for a considerable amount of time. We received it today, exactly 5 weeks after we placed the order. That is an unacceptable time frame for shipping an item, especially when other reviewers received their stools much earlier. We also noticed other reviewers fit our time frame. If we ordered this as a gift, we would be severely upset with the long lead time for receiving this (or any) product. We originally considered giving only a star or two for review due to the length of time between order and receipt. We unpacked the stool this afternoon and assembled it quickly. There are good features herein. The metal used is a heavier gauge than other comparable stools. The casters have a square keyed base that locks into the receiving hole so that when you tighten the screw, the bearing plate doesn't spin. The casters are stout and strong. The lay-in tray at the base of the stool provides on-the-job storage for the tools and fasteners you are using. The pneumatic seat adjusts approximately 5 inches which allows for good access to multiple tasks alongside your work area. The seat is cushioned, but not much, so you have the padding without excessive material bunching up under your seat. The trays are removeable as is the tray base if you need more accessibility to your work area. The lift cylinder functions firmly and easily, though we did note a sticky substance resident on the cylinder, so you may want to avoid grabbing it from this surface.Overall, this is a good quality mechanic's stool that is budget priced and offers a versatile work station for most tradesmen. We begrudgingly give it 4 stars, but withhold one for the extreme delay in shipping.

Bought for husband for Christmas - it was easy to put together, well constructed. He loved the padded seat and being able to have the seat go up and down at different heights, plus the removable tool holders.

Comfortable and rolls well. Good height adjustment. Super easy to assemble in less then 5 minutes. Seems like a good valueOnly issue I have is I wish there was a way to hold it together better. The seat just sits on the shaft so if you need to lift the stool you have to lift from the base.

I have a variety of tasks and hobbies I do out of my garage and I've slowly been collecting all the bits and pieces I need to do them easily and properly.I have sorely been missing out on a creeper. And the bonus of the trays built into this seat is excellent. You can even flip the trays around and clip them so they are facing outward (makes things a bit easier to grab). Just an excellent quality creeper all around.
