Muscle vs Fat: What’s the different?
Weight is weight, right? Does what make up the weight actually make a difference? Surely a pound of muscle is the same as a pound of fat, right?
Well, it’s not that simple.
What makes up the weight you carry can have an impact on your health, appearance, physical abilities, and general well-being.
Muscle and fat could not be more different in terms of both structure and role.
Let’s Talk About Muscle:
Some muscles attach to your skeletal system. Others are key to the circulatory and digestive systems. Your heart is a muscle, and so is your bicep. Muscles are vital to the way your body runs!
Muscle is also denser than fat, which means that a pound of it will take up less space than a pound of fat. This can impact your physical appearance.
Let’s Talk About Fat:
Your body does need some fat, but it doesn’t need a ton of it. Fat helps store energy, insulate organs, and can even help the messenger systems in your body function. It also stores some nutrients, like vitamins A, D, E and K.
In terms of appearance, a person with a higher body fat percentage will appear larger than a person with a lower percentage, even though they weight the same.

Being on a diet I find it useful and rewarding to "Visualise" what I am loosing.- In this case placing models of fat around my house gives me an incentive to do something physical instead of watching tv.- Which helps with weight-loss. slightly squidgy, and about the correct weight. it is working so far.

Anytime I think losing 5lbs isn’t enough I go over and pick up this log of fat. Very motivating to keep losing 5lbs. I did as others and bought a 10$ clear shoebox/case to store it in. Now it’s part of the home gym decor.. haha

I purchased this to motivate me while on my "get fit" journey! It's nice and squishy but firm at the same time. It feels kind of sticky. It comes with a stand also. When I want to eat something that I shouldn't, I remind myself that "Otis" (yes, I named it) and I need to confer and I need to remember that I don't want all of the excess fat on my body. I've got to do whatever works and need all of the inspiration/motivation that I can get. This is a fun way to stay motivated!

Great model. However-remember when you were a kid in an arcade and you got one of those “sticky hands”? this is the same material. Within 5 mins it collected dust, debree, dog hair. So, within 10 mins I found an acrylic shoe display case that we will keep it in at our health clinic that way people won’t touch it and dust won’t collect.
