The good: the price and the outer insulation. The bad: the wires are thin and cutting the insulation results in cutting many of the wires using a wiring tool. Other 10GA wiring has been easier to use.

Not sure what standard previous reviewers used, but this wire is 16 gauge. Not even close to 10. I verified this when it wouldn't even halfway fill the 10 gauge opening on my stripping tool. Amazon, you should adjust this listing. Claiming this is 10 gauge is totally false. While good quality normal house speaker wire, this is NOT as listed. Please be advised before buying.

This was true 10 gauge speaker cable; thick but supple; almost too thick to go inside of the spring loaded speaker ports on my speakers. As far as I can tell, they are delivering rich bold sound through my speakers; can't ask for much more than that; the price was great to boot!

Copper coated aluminum. Can't complain too much, it didn't specify and I should have asked beforehand. It'll get the job done and it's cheap. However, don't let the other reviews claiming this stuff is the chit fool you. It's aluminum wire; if you want high end, get oxygen free pure copper. There's a reason this stuff is so cheap.

Very good wire.I will always default to 10 gauge wire, simply because this application is built around pushing a lot of power into a low impedance system (which is your speaker). Plus, my cable runs tend to be fairly long, since I'm wiring up a home theater and the amp is usually a fair distance away from the speakers. With lower gauge wire, you increase the length of the cable run you can get away with before audio quality drops. Yes, it's harder to work with, but I think the tradeoff is worth it.A good product

Measuring the cable the gauge can be confirmed, I use it to power a pioneer sub, cable works great, just the right size. You wont find this size in the hardware store. The Audio Shop wanted 50 bucks for 20ft (really..???!!!). This is a great deal, would use for any sub up to 500 rms. Hope this helps someone.
