I think this attic door insulator is ok and the quality is about what I expected for the price. Our attic stairs don't get opened often and I think this will help somewhat. It was easy to install.

Upon finishing our conversion of a garage space to a sunroom we knew we needed to further insulate the attic from the room itself. This worked perfectly! My husband used wood slats and screws instead of simply using staples to install. He felt this would give it a more finished look while sealing any little gaps. He was impressed with it. The only thing he said he would change is making it a two-way zipper so he could seal the cold air in the attic while working on electrical.

Got around to installing this today as I was dreading doing it as things like this never go as planned. But am happy to say, it installed very easily and I was done in less than a half hour. First off, the setup is thick reflective insulation and holds it's form well. the size of it was pretty much perfect for my opening. The instructions say to staple the edge tot he wood frame but I had a large role of 3M double sided tape I got years ago for holding on car trim. I figured if it was strong enough to hold car trim it should hold this. So I put the tape around the full perimeter as you can see it in the last photo with the red outer protective covering still on. I then stripped off the outer paper exposing the tape and pressed this onto the tape around the entire perimeter. It is holding great. I didn't use any staples but I can see where that would work fine. But with the tape I have a sealed edge all the way around. The zipper opens easily and there is one that goes on each side. Overall I am very happy with this and am glad I bought it. I would recommend this.

This will work for out attic stairs to plug the draft from the cold air. It is basically just bubble wrap with a cover of thin shiny silver material. It is not pretty flimsy so I think there are better options out there with more insulating properties than this. It will do for now but I was hoping for more.

This thing for the price does something, but as to how much really hard to say.It is VERY thin it is basically made of a reflective bubble wrap.It will slow down some seal but not much since there is an area where you can open and that cannot be perfectly sealed. If it was me i think other options maybe better, however with that being said those options are also more expensive and more work. So if you need something that's a quick fix but also does something but not necessarily a lot. this might be a good option
