The skirt was made to help aid in the cleaning process and it does this by helping the brush ring kit with support while the brush agitates back and forth to clean the algae and dirt from the surface. Also, it acts as a protective cover for the lower body so that way it doesn’t take on any added wear or potential damage. This vacuum skirt is tan in color and is designed to wrap around the outside of the lower body and attach to the tabs that are built around the body as well. The part is also rubber which means it can and will deteriorate over the length of time and use of the cleaner, so when installing a new one a great tip is you want to make sure the outside marking on the skirt is facing the outside of the lower body where it is visible to the eye, if not then the cleaner will not operate properly
