About this item

  • Motorized electronic telescope focuser is the DC motor that is simple to install and makes achieving sharp focus easy; keep in mind that best focus will be achieved by focusing on a bright star
  • Use the pushbutton hand controller for smooth; precise focus adjustments without vibration; which can be convenient and easy to operate
  • The control box requires a standard 9V battery to operate; The 9V battery goes into the battery compartment in the rear of the control box; which can choose speeds from coarse to very fine with the adjustable speed control knob on the box
  • Includes a variety of parts parts such as brackets; hardware; coil cables and so on; please note be sure to loosen the two set screws which connect the shaft coupler to the focusing shaft before attempting to manually focus with the focus knob
  • Accufocus electronic focuser cannot be used on telescopes with APO two speed focusing; but only on telescopes with single speed focusing; such as brand of refractors and reflectors in 60-127mm range; please feel free to contact us if have any question

Focusing a telescope by hand can cause the image to shake or even move completely out of the field of view, especially at high magnifications. But with the AccuFocus electronic focuser, those annoyances are a thing of the past. Using the pushbutton hand controller you get smooth, precise focusing, without vibration. Choose any speed from coarse to very fine. The DC motor installs easily and works with many Celestron, Skywatcher, meade and Orion telescopes. It's powered by one 9-volt battery (included) in the hand controller. Bracket, hardware, and coil cable are also included.

Focuser operated in reverse. Directions on controller say to turn clockwise to speed up.... results in unit slowing down. Turn the counter clockwise and motor speeds up.

Los indicadores de enfoque están al revés. La calidad de fabricación es aceptable pero no tiene precisión en la velocidad del motor

Works well, powerful motor and nice ans slow to focus easily, helps when you have auto tracking so you don't have to touch anything just use the little remote.

Since I already had an Orion AccuFocus on another telescope, I wanted another one for my new telescope. I bought this because it looks identical, was listed under the same name and costs a little less than the Orion website. Unfortunately it is nothing like the original. First, it was working intermittently right out of the box. The second issue is that the the motor speed is much faster than the genuine AccuFocus. Getting the perfect focus is not as easy because the focuser is going way faster. If you never owned an original, you won't know the difference, but for me, it was very disappointing. Lastly, the fast/slow speed knob is reversed. While not a big deal, with the other issues combined, it really reflects in the ultra-low quality of this item. It's barely worth $10 in my opinion.

This worked great on the 3 refractors I tried. The speed control worked great, even though the arrows are backwards.

I have a Zhumell Z8 which has a GSO focuser. The mounting bracket w/ this device is for an Orion focuser w/ a square plate. Not compatible. So I put a 10" pipe clamp around the end of the scope just behind the rim, and use that to hold the smaller/simpler of the two loose brackets that come with this item. I lined the inside of the pipe clamp w/ sticky felt so it won't scratch my scope. The silver thing that slides over the regular-speed focus shaft is a little too tight so it needs to be expanded slightly w/ a drill bit. It's very solid and it works. I don't expect any troubles.Yes the fast-slow control on these are wired backwards. Make a new sticker if it bothers you so much.

Quality issues. The product did not work, so they sent me a replacement which also did not work. I am getting a refund. In both cases, the speed knob was connected backward (fast setting causes slow motion, slow setting causes fast motion). On the first unit, one of the buttons would get jammed so that it was stuck on. On the second unit, the motor would only spin in one direction. On the second unit, the battery connector was loose.
