See some people complaining about the tool. Maybe they do not know how to use it correctly. It's very simple to use so I'm not sure why people return the item unless they are using for a project then returning it. THE TOOL WORKS FANTASTIC!! Buy one you won't regret it, just read the instructions before you give it a bad review the tool works amazing.

I liked this tool while it lasted, which wasn't that long. I tried using it on 1/4" ali rivets, and one of the circlips kept coming loose after that. I'd have to disassmble it and reinstall the circlip after a couple of uses, every time after that. 1/4" is an unusally big rivet, but it does say on the box it can do 1/4" steel, and these were only ali rivets, so I think it is a tool for lighter applications at the end of the day.Having said that, I had less problems with this than with the 12V Milwaukee rivetters, and it's a lot cheaper and easier to have in your toolbox than a 12V rivetter. If you are doing rivets all day though, I think it's worth getting an 18V or pneumatic rivetter, despite things like this promising the world on the box.

Have used it a couple of times. It makes installing larger pop rivets a breeze...But...make sure you follow the directions and USE THE CORRECT SIZE MANDREL FOR EACH SIZE RIVET YOU ARE INSTALLING! If not, it will jam.

I wasn’t sure of spending the money when cheaper ones were available. I’m glad I spent the money. I’m installing 1/8” aluminum using 3/16” rivets in a jon boat. Wow what a difference a quality tool makes. Easy to use on my impact driver. It snaps on to the quarter inch collet. I can drill with one tool and rivet with the other. If you’re on the fence, my recommendation is buy it, it’s worth it and will save your hands. Quality tool and great service.

I bought this brand after using their pneumatic riveter on a major project- 100 Stainless Steel 1/4 rivets. It was easy to figure out that the mandrel needed to be backed up to the nose to accept rivets. Then to hold a rivet in place, ease the trigger to where it just catches.A bit cumbersome if you are drilling initial holes, removing cobalt bits, placing it back in place. Back and forth.First try was 4 rivets on thr pickup and it worked well.Tomorrow I will take it to my truck to put in 2 rivets. If I do end up using it a lot, I will likely have to replace the mandrel jaws periodically.Hopefully it hold up better than the hand grip ones that I have worn out.

Está herramienta es excelente, me enamoré de ella, a pesar de que tengo varias herramientas, está sin duda es la segunda que más me gusta.

I had to use a 3/16" X 1/2" blind aluminum rivet and I tried to use a heavy duty rivet tool. I couldn't get the rivet to hardly even flare let alone complete the job. I was looking at purchasing a battery operated riveting tool, when I found this during my search. It was at least 1/2 the price of the battery operated tools and after seeing the video, I decided to try it. I already have a few battery operated drivers that could handle this. When I received this, I read the instructions and care pamphlet. It was easy to get started, but the tool's jaws wouldn't open up to accept the rivet mandrel. I worked with it for a little bit and they opened. When I used it, the rivet was 'grabbed' by the tool and was easy to insert into the hole and it wasn't difficult to hold the tool and power my driver. In just seconds the rivet set and the mandrel was cut off. When I reversed the driver to reverse the tool, the mandrel was pushed out out of the tool. I used this again and it worked great. It set the rivets that the manual hand tool couldn't. It's a time saver and didn't kill my hands like a manual riveting tool doesIt appears to be a very well manufactured tool that operates smoothly. The nose pieces were easy to change with the included wrench. (FYI - I used small groove pliers with a protective rag to hold the body while I removed the nose piece.) The case is nice, but removing the nose pieces and placing them back into their slot can be a job! I would highly recommend this tool and would definitely buy it again. Note - I was not compensated in any manner for this review.

I bought one of these Astro model ADR14 tools to use instead of my collection of three hand rivet tools (the traditional pliers style), because my old arthritic hands don't like squeezing the levers anymore. The tool chucks up into any drill motor, whether it is cordless electric, corded electric, pneumatic, as long as that drill motor has a slow-speed/high-torque mode that can allow its use as a screwdriver. The back end of the tool has a conventional 1/4" hex shaft, just like any screwdriver bit you could chuck up in a drill. The manufacturer recommends that for best results, a cordless drill motor should have an 18V battery; cordless drills with lesser batteries such as 12V and 14.4V, etc; will still work, but will not be able to deliver enough torque for large sizes of pop rivet, or pop rivets made of harder materials such as steel, or if they work they might exhaust a lesser battery after setting just a few rivets. The tool comes with a blow-molded case that holds it and the six included 'nosepieces" (3/32", 1/8", 5/32", 3/16", 7/32", 1/4"), plus the included small wrench that is used to change nosepieces on the tool. In a rather significant screw-up, the case is configured to precisely fit the tool with the 1/4" nosepiece installed, but that nosepiece has a shallower nut on its end, and some of the other nosepieces have a deeper nut, and if any of those are installed on the tool, it will not fit into the case; I used an X-Acto knife to carve out a bit of plastic to allow ANY nosepiece to fit.The tool has a maximum mandrel draw distance of 0.5" (1/2"). This means that in order for this tool to properly set (install) a pop rivet, there can be no more than 0.5" of the rivet extending past the materials being joined by the rivet, when you initially stick the rivet through those pieces. I should clarify that the mandrel's "head" at the end of the rivet does not count in this measurement; only the body of the rivet itself is important here.Note that Astro also has a nearly identical tool, model ADR36, which costs a few dollars less, but which is not rated for the larger 5/32" and 1/4" rivets, and its kit does not include those nosepieces. Astro's website suggests that the ADR36's maximum mandrel draw is 0.7", which is a bit longer than the ADR14's maximum draw of 0.5". Except for that, I don't see any reason to buy the ADR36 instead of the ADR14.This tool is designed for use with pop-rivets (blind rivets) made from aluminum, copper, steel, and stainless steel. The harder materials and/or the larger sizes require the most torque from the drill motor you use.The entire tool is made of CNC machined aluminum and steel parts, and it can all come apart for repair or replacement of any component, if needed. Mostly it screws apart, but at least one snap ring is used as well.In practice, you use this tool just like a traditional hand rivet tool, except your drill motor does the work of drawing back on the rivets' mandrels. Run the drill motor clockwise to draw, and reverse it to counterclockwise to loosen the internal draw chuck and drive the snapped-off mandrel out of the tool. You must hold onto the knurled body of the tool when running the drill motor, otherwise the whole tool will spin rather than draw on the rivet's mandrel. However, you don't need to grip the tool tightly, just a light and easy grip is required.I can't fault anything about this tool (except for the aforementioned case snafu). It seems to be a very good design, well manufactured from quality materials and well packaged.

This is an excellent tool. It feels very high quality. I’ve seen the cheaper ones but this is in a different league. I’m sure the cheap ones are fine for home/DIY use but if you intend to use your rivet-drill adapter on a job site I highly recommend shelling out for this version. It makes very quick work of jobs that would normally have my arms throbbing the next day. As others not, the only slight annoyance is that the damn case is fitted so the same tip must be put back in the tool in order for them all to fit. This is annoying if it’s not the size you use most often.
