Four stars because I didn't realize it would be used and scuffed. I'm sure a lot of people buy it, use it and return it. Don't! The device is strong and broke both rotors. I tried everything else. I wouldn't have gotten them off without it. Car is an '06 CR-V with 190K miles.

Purchased this to pull rear rotors off an '05 Chrysler Town & Country van. The set up was easy. I did watch a couple of YouTube videos for tips and tricks. Make sure you leave a couple of hugs nuts on so the rotor doesn't fly off and cause injury. The puller did the job fantastically!!!

I did all the typical efforts to remove the big, stuck brake rotors in my 2014 Ford F150 4x4: Saturate with WD-40, bang on the rear with a sledge hammer, use the heat gun, and this rotor didn't budge. The puller arrived today, and let me tell you, it does what it"s supposed to do in a major way. Take your time with this tool, and your rotor will come off. Saturate the front and rear of the hub with penetrate. Partially thread all six lug nuts on (you can't be too safe). Use grease on the main removal bolt on the threads and the two washers. Line up the gripper tabs behind the rotor and lock in place. Make the main bolt, finger tight against hub end. With everything in place, use a strap to keep the ends together. Slowly start to crank the bolt down with a ratchet, and when snug, I used an impact gun in small increments while holding the nut with a wrench, then I banged the surface of the rotor with a sledge hammer every so often, then back to the impact gun for a few seconds. Be ready for when the rotor pops, it won't fly off, thanks to the lug nuts partially threaded on. It works and is definitely for heavy duty jobs. I attached some pics so you can see the rust on the hubs that was bonding the rotor to it. The rotor is 14" in diameter.

Great to have on hand when you encounter a stuck on rotor that no amount of sweat and swearing can remove.

I love doing my own work on my Jeep but found that my parking brake had seized and I could not get the rotors off. I bought this and it did the trick beautifully. It may have been a bit pricy but it was definitely cheaper than getting it done somewhere. High quality product and arrived very quickly.

I waited way too long to change my rotors on my truck, so to no surprise those bad boys were horrifically seized on. In the 20 or so years I've been working on cars, I've never seen a ROTOR (not a drum) stuck to a hub as bad as this....I've had rotors stuck, but never once have I had the combo of PB blaster, heat, & a BFH fail me.after a solid 45 minutes of beating my old rotors to a pulp (even breaking out the sledge), I was not only deaf and tired, but my rotors haven't budged at all. I was at a loss. I knew they had rotor/drum pullers, but didn't think they'd make a puller that could accommodate 14" rotors on a truck (or at least not cheaply, for a driveway mechanic to justify buying). I thought I was SOL and would just need to keep beating, spraying, heating.I stumbled on this thing and decided to give it a shot. it was about half the cost of the OTC one, and I knew all 4 rotors were probably gonna fight me, so it was worth buying just to save myself the headache. I will say it's a little tricky to get on initially, especially if you're by yourself (a spare set of hands will definitely help). the backing plate will fight the tool a bit, so that's annoying to get it positioned. but after cranking the crap out of it with an impact, my rotor finally popped free.few things to note - I needed to use the ratchet strap method (as advised in the reviews) for extra leverage, so be aware of that. don't waste your time without it, the tool will just pop off. also make sure you have a 1 1/4" impact socket to drive the pin on the tool (the inner nut can be held with an adjustable). lastly...MAKE SURE YOU THREAD THE LUG NUTS ON TO CATCH THE ROTOR. if it's really stuck, it'll fly off with some major force.if you got a stuck rotor and tried everything....don't think, just buy it! easily saved me a few hours of hammering, heating, and cursing. it's also a very solid tool that I'm sure I'll have forever. I'll never be annoyed by a brake job ever again.

I like working my own cars (gen x) instead of paying $150 an hour for labor. So a front bearing job could be $1800 total for a part that cost around $200. First I was way over my head trying to do this job because it took me a long time, and a lot of mistakes to get it right so let’s just say $400 in parts(I destroyed the first set of bearings I bought) lol. If you want to use an impact to remove them fine who cares, do not use an impact to reinstall them-don’t do it!!I did some research on the Astro bearing puller set and was satisfied with what everyone said. Honestly it’s an awesome set, and it eventually worked for me. It comes with instructions and seems to be robust, except it wasn’t working for me. Ughhh. So I called Astro explained my issue with the collar being too small and they sent me the collar I needed (xla) for free!!! It just so happened this set probably works for 99% of vehicles, the set I bought was the XL, doesn’t work for a 2003 sequoia limited. I actually have another car I have to do bearings on, so it’s well worth the kit. All in all for the price, simplicity, and customer service Im very satisfied.
