Arundel - Looney Bin The Looney Bin is the place for those that just can’t get along with the rest. Not every bottle is a 73mm and not everyone wants to use a “regular” bottle while on their bike. The Looney Bin will hold anything from a convenience store bottle of H2O to a nice bottle of Pinot Noir. This is the perfect cage for a commuter rig or the Mixte for that spring picnic.Turn KnobAdjustable Ratchet Strap Drink and ride responsibly.

Ordered this to mount on my motorcycle to hold a 750L fuel bottle. For when I’m out riding and there is no gas station around, Just enough fuel to get me back.It mounted easy with minor mods and holds my bottle very well. Seems to be a good quality part. The ratcheting lock works wellWould recommend
Stopped working after 1 day

So far I like the bottle holder it's very wide but I'm not sure how long this will last. I feel like it will easily break if handled the wrong way. I will re-update this review if I have any issues down the road

I love that it’s adjustable! I use different water bottles and I was just gifted a Stanley cup ( yes I joined the Stanley club) and I needed something to hold it, this is perfect!

I have a Contigo 32 oz metal water bottle that I like carrying for hydration. Needed a water bottle mount that was expandable to fit that, but also manage smaller bottles if I chose to bring that along. At first, I was worried that the small lip holding the bottom of the bottle might be an issue, and at the bottle might slip through and fall. Not the case at all. The lip is long enough to catch the bottom of the bottle, and the adjustable straps do a great job at securely holding my bottle in place while I ride. I've also used a plain store bought plastic water bottle, and while I have to tighten strap a little bit extra to make sure the bottle stays in, it's still holds it secure, even when hitting bumpy terrain. Shipping was quick, price is great, & extremely satisfied. I finally have a water bottle holder that works the way I need it to. I did end up using metal hose clamps to mount it on my bike in place of the provided clamps for more sturdiness, but that does not detract from my satisfaction at all.

This might be a game changer for bikepackign. I can now easily carry 1L bottles that I buy at the grocery store... and my thermos for keeping my insulin cool on my bike. Before, it was always an improper fit with other cages. This is a genius idea and the mechanism works well. If anything goes wrong with them, I'll post an update before Feb 2024. If there is no update between now and then, this means they can handle a very rigorous off-road bikepacking trip.

Fits perfectly on my folding bike!Have a road bike and i feel every bump when going on uneven road. And a few times my water bottle would fall off because of the many shakes.I have a stainless steel water bottle and this holder has such a good grip. You just have to get used to the minor extra step to un tighten to get your water and re-tighten secure it in the holder. And love how you can put any size water bottle especially the bigger ones for longer bike rides.Hope the quality of the product lasts a while. It’s my fav bottle holder so far.

I have found no negatives about this product!I rated the durability 5 stars but the truth of the matter is I just started using it so it's much too early to tell how the durability factor will be, but it seems plenty sturdy. This cage will hold any normal bottle so securely you could flip the bike upside down and shake the crap out of it and that bottle will not budge; but wait, I tightened the first time a bit too tight and I couldn't even remove the bottle with my hands until I backed of the tensioner! So you can toss and tumble your bike all you want and never have to worry about the bottle flying out if you tighten down enough. I also discovered that the ratcheting system does not loosen as you ride. The tensioner is made of plastic so I wouldn't go cranking it as hard as you can because you could strip the plastic teeth, all I did was snug it and it held the bottle very securely.According to Arundel Bicycle Company, the cage will fit between 65mm to 95mm bottles. I'm not going to go measure it but I do know it fits standard water bottles with no problem, and it did fit my Camelback Chute Mag 40-ounce stainless steel bottle but that's only 31mm however it weighs 19 ounces plus 40 ounces of water and the Looney Bin cage had no problems holding it.Mine is black but they also come in white. The cage and the bolts weigh just 34 grams.I'm using this for touring, but I would strongly recommend it for off road cycling as well, or if you're just tired of losing your bottles.

Long distance bike tourist here. The oldest of these I've had for at least 5 years, and they show no signs of wear. So while the price point for these is a little bit high - I have four and feel slightly crazy that I'm rolling with $120 worth of water bottle cages - the design is flawless, and the manufacturing quality high. So it's long-term value seems quite good. I initially used them with a 40 oz klean kanteen, which I still do for water. But I also got to thinking that these would be great for holding a food container. Like a feed bag, but something you can seal and take out and clean. With a little bit of research and experimentation I have discovered that the Lock & Lock 1.3L model LLS113 juuuust fits in one of these. You have to support the band of the Looney bin as you are pushing it in, because the Looney bin pad is still touching it a bit. And this may cause some premature wear on the pad, but for me it's worth it. With a couple of handlebar water bottle adapters, view can then have two buckets of food in front of you, which can be sealed against rain and, at night in a campsite, against pests. I just used these for a 1500km, three and a half week bike tour in France, and it really made a difference in making sure that I ate enough fruit and vegetables, which otherwise are super awkward to transport and eat while riding (and honestly just that I ate enough food in general, because if you're exercising all day you also need to be eating all day, and this is much easier if there's just two buckets of food in front of you all the time). I suppose you could do a similar thing by just bolting straight through a container, but using the looney bin makes it easy to take out and clean, and ensures that the container is well supported and water tight.
