Cheaply made, not very sturdy or durable. We bought it for our art studio and after a few months of use had problems with it shutting off and on during use. The power connection is very poorly done and is likely the source of the problem. Now the pad is useless. I don't know what possessed me not to buy the equipment insurance with it, but now we are just out the money for this.

Love this! Wanted it for ages. Use it for tracing photos that I want to paint; sometimes adding bits from several pictures. It was very awkward trying to do that by taping the picture with tracing paper over it on a window. This is nice and flat and lightweight with adjustable brightness. Simple to use. Comes with everything and ready to go. Very, very happy with this purchase!

I bought this because I have a small screen printing business and I needed it for my designs and those of others to go from paper to product. It is an attractive slim 15" x 20" light pad with a 12" x 17" working area. Plug in a small AC adapter and turn on the switch and a bright even white light illuminates edge to edge. Works as advertised, best thing is it stores away and does not require a dedicated work surface. Portable and bright, it's a great tool to work with on your projects. Stores in felt sleeve to protect acrylic screen. Use it to trace new art ideas, register pictures and text on a project, with many possible uses for the budding artist. May not be such a great tool for the professional graphic artist as it does not have rule lines, a glass top or variable light power. I use it to help register artwork for screen printing.

this is a very good light box. it is lighter than many, but still not as light as i would like... ie, with thick paper it doesn't work so well.the service provided by the suppliers (who are in the States) was outstanding.

I have had my 12"x9" Lightpad for about a year now and I love it! Its bright enough to see through thicker paper, like card stock or watercolor paper, but not a harsh light that hurts your eyes. Its the perfect size for all my projects(I usually work with 8 1/2 x 11 or slightly larger paper) but it also works fine for larger projects, its slimness makes it easy to slide projects around on it as long as you have a table large enough for your project. Its thin enough to slip onto a bookshelf for storage and the slimness of it also makes working with it very comfortable, no more holding your arms and hands at aquard angles! The pouch it comes with is great for keeping it clean and protected. I'm usually very frugal and I make do with the things I have, but even though I only use mine a few times a month, this lightpad was well worth the investment. A great tool to have for any artist, especially since it comes in multiple sizes!

I bought this primarily for building a film negative "scanner" using my Sony A65V digital camera for digitizing old film negatives. The camera will be held above the light box pointing straight down from a home-built wooden frame that will stand next to this light box. I also purchased two sheets of optically clear acrylic, one square foot each with one sheet being 1/4" thick and the second sheet being 1/8" thick from McMaster-Carr (stock number 8560K354 and 8560K239 respectively) along with a "Super-soft Silicone Rubber 1/32" Thick, 1/2" Width, 10' Length, 30a Durometer" strip (stock number 8622K51). I'll apply the silicone rubber strip along the perimeter of the light box then set the 1/4" acrylic sheet on top to protect the light box surface from scratches and damage. A film negative will then be placed on top of the 1/4" acrylic sheet and then the 1/8" acrylic sheet will be placed on top of the film to keep it flat. I'll post my results here after I've completed the project. Now I'll comment on the light bed. As the other reviewers have said it is a nice even lighting across the entire work area - critical for photography. It seems to be a natural "cool" white rather than a "warm" white but have no idea what the color temperature is since it is not specified. But comparing it to two types of LED flood lights in our home it seems to be very close to the cool white which does not have the warm yellowish tinge. Should be good for true color reproduction in my photographs. It is bright but that's a relative term - obviously it not bright like the 11 Watt LED flood lights in our kitchen - but it is MUCH brighter than the brightness of a good LED monitor showing an all-white screen. It is nice and thin but yet feels very sturdy. So far I have no complaints and I'll follow this up once I've had my photography setup finished and have evaluated the results.

I did a bit of research before purchasing this type of product - there are several light boxes out there ranging in price and performance - and based upon reviews and recommendations it seemed to me that if you want the right tool for the job then avoid the cheap ones. The Autograph LightPad caught my eye and fitted into my requirements and budget - so that's what I went for. It's a little more expensive than some of the others - but worth every penny - here's why:- The bright LED light is white (as opposed to warm, yellowy colours from bulbs)- Light is consistent and even all the way to the edges of the active working area.- The double layered, firm work area comfortably fits an A3 sheet with a little room around it.- The LightPad looks professional and cool with its aluminium and steel frame.- It's perfect for illustration, design and creative tasks.- The LightPad is well constructed, not bulky or too heavy and doesn't get too hot.Generally I think this is a fantastic bit of kit - and it has quickly become an essential part of my illustration equipment.

I was looking for a medium to large light table type device that would not take up alot of space when not in use. Preferably LED based for durability and low operating costs. My Desireso LEDo Compact. In relation to the large usable workspace.Pros+ LED Lighting, even enough for sketch/drafting work. May not be bright enough for someone looking to use it with slides.+ Compact. The 17" x24" usable area has a border of 1 3/8" on all sides to the edge of the 5/8" thick aluminum frame. This is a good amount of usable space to tape your work down if desired.+ Frame. The frame is smooth and squared/true making it function quite well as a strait/parallel border if you want to use it with a T-Square to draft with.+ Cool running. The LED lights don't heat up like some old fashioned light tables.+ Bright. I had to lay down 7 sheets of 98lb bond (160g) Canson Mix Media paper to completely block out the light from the table getting through. Of course it is unusable before seven sheets but how many depends on your needs. Because the light is diffused through the plastic work surface, using it with velum over 26lb printer paper was bright and usable without being overpowering to stare at for extended periods in a moderately lit room.Cons- For consistency (at least with American page sizes), I'd prefer an 18" x 24" usable workspace. Never the less I usually have just enough margins that I can position my work to accomodate all the important details without having to shift around.
