We don't have kids in the home that play with toys, but we do have dogs and though this isn't a dog toy, it LOOKS like one of our dogs. How could we not order it? At first unboxing it seemed a little cheap, but since playing with it for a little it's holding up much better than I initially thought and the materials are higher quality than first impression as well. The marionette strings are more fun in the front of the dog as the 2 legs are separately stringed, but the back section is all on 1 string so the "walk" action isn't really a natural movement. But let's be real, how often are marionette's used? For the price, it's great just to admire.

First, I must say that my kid doesn't know how to use puppets. She asked for a dog for her 9th birthday. She didn't specify that it had to be alive and when I saw this, I knew it was going to be perfect. Once she got over her disappointment, she actually looked up how to maneuver the puppet strings and is learning to make him walk. She actually likes it. It is made of great quality material. The wood isn't so thin so I don't have to worry about it snapping. The yarn is soft and silky to the touch. It's a great toy.

This is a simple puppet. You don't control the individual legs, there is a string that moves the rear and one that moves the head and then two that are attached kind of above the front legs that can sort of make them wiggle up and down. There isn't any control of the head turning right and left.It is a really cute toy, I got one in this variety as well as a racoon that they have. The strings come out easily from the wood by pulling the knot from the top, making getting it untangled really simple.

This is intended to entertain very young toddlers in my home, so will suffice. Most likely will be used as an "introduction" as to how to use a marionette. The action is simple and barely adequate, but it is cute enough to entertain a small child. Hind legs are not operable, only body tilt, head raise/lower (not good side-to-side of head), and front two legs. Has some "wiggle" walk, which makes it livelier than it otherwise would have been if a shorter torso. Like that it has wood paws (not shaped like paws) to add weight sufficient to give it some motion to the feet/legs.

My grandson loves this adorable Rottweiler marionette puppet! The soft yarn body and wooden feet make it so cuddly and fun to play with. The detachable strings are genius to make untangling the strings easy! The realistic movement is amazing - it's like having our own little puppet buddy! Highly recommend for kids (and kids at heart) who love puppets and creative play!

My niece loved this puppet for Christmas. The yarn fur is full/plush. The movement of the front legs and head is realistic.. back legs don’t do much but still a cute starter puppet.

I purchased this puppet to be Toto in my students production of the Wizard of Oz. And one of my students who is a third grader used Toto. It was the perfect size for him. The puppet is very durable, it lasted 12 shows. And it’s still in perfect condition.
