A Fusion of Traditional Japanese Craftsmanship and Innovative Technology

The bows of ARTIGIANI&VIOLIN are meticulously handcrafted by skilled artisans.

At the same time, we incorporate machinery during the initial rough processing, which does not affect the final quality. We also utilize measuring instruments to assess the Young's modulus (elasticity) of the wood, allowing us to data-track the properties of our raw materials. This approach eliminates variations in quality, achieving high processing precision and exceptional cost performance.

While cherishing the traditional methods of string instrument making, we aim to deliver better products without being constrained by outdated industry practices.

フェルナンブコ

Commitment to 'Authentic Materials'

At ARTIGIANO&VIOLIN, we stock a large selection of pernambuco, a material that has become increasingly rare and difficult to obtain. Our craftsmen carefully select the appropriate materials for each bow's shape and characteristics by combining their experience with measurement data from precision instruments.

Pernambuco wood is scientifically proven to possess superior acoustic properties due to the presence of the pigment brazilin, which sets it apart from other woods. Unfortunately, many affordable bows on the market are falsely labeled as Pernambuco, when in fact, they are made of Brazilwood.

We are committed to crafting bows using genuine Pernambuco wood, rich in brazilin, to ensure the highest quality and performance.

Unlike IPE, which is commonly used as a substitute for pernambuco in recent years, or Brazilwood, we invite you to experience the unique playing feel and tonal quality of genuine pernambuco.

For Long-Lasting Use

ARTIGIANO&VIOLIN bows are designed with a structure that allows for rehairing.

Even if the bow hair deteriorates after long-term use, you can continue using the bow for many years by having it rehaired.

All bows come with a bow bag so that you can easily bring them to a music store when it's time for rehairing.

I had been using the bow I purchased when I got my cello and it was just a good basic bow. I wanted to upgrade to something better but not spend a ton of money. While a professional bow can be $600+ I couldn't afford that right now so this was a decent alternative. And what a difference it made. I had no idea how much smoother and fuller my cello could sound. It did take a while to get it rosined up the first time but that is normal with any new bow or rehaired bow. This should last me for several years until I upgrade further but by then I'll have a nicer cello too. And I'll likely keep this one as a backup.

Needed to put a LOT of rosin before using this bow. The bow feels a bit flexible and soft, not as sturdy as I would like. There is a noticeable sound difference between this and my current bow. I would say the sound is softer, almost muted a bit. For the price point, this is to be expected. Not a bad backup bow or for practice but not recommended for performance.

This is a fantastic bow and looks and feels like a premium item. It's a little hard to describe what makes it feel so good, but it's one of those things that you just know when you put it in your hand. My cello sounds great with it (as great as I can play it anyway) and it feels like a serious step up to what I was using before. If you're looking for a quality bow to step your game up, this can be a great option!

The bow looks nice, feels good in the hand weight wise, and sounds good. But it takes a bit of setting up (was not pre-rosined), and needed a tiny bit of sanding of the back bottom corners of the frog. They felt pretty sharp upon arrival! I wish that the stick was a bit stronger too. With that being said, it pulls a decent tone once rosined, and isn't bad for spiccato and sautille. It comes in a nice little box and bag.Overall, you definitely get what you pay for with classical instruments, but this is a decent bang for your buck cheap bow if you want wood instead of carbon fiber.

My old violin bow was "loosing it's hair" and it was time replace the hair. Then I saw this bow and decided to check it out. I am very pleased with the overall quality. For my needs, it's perfect. It is well built, quite ornate and feels really comfortable in my hand. It came in a very handsome packaging. It easy to adjust but takes a lot of rosin the first time using it. The bow itself is very attractive. Over all, I'm very happy with it.

I ordered this violin bow for my wife who plays in the community orchestra. She's used this bow 3 times now in rehearsal and is quite pleased with it for the price. Is it as good as her primary $600 bow, no, but she's perfectly happy using this one for practice/rehearsal and saving the primary bow for concert time. She did have to apply rosin a couple of times to get it performing like she wanted.

This is a very high-quality cello bow, and using it is a pleasure! The response is as expected from a professional level product, and the fit, finish and performance is in line with its price. Would definitely recommend to the cello player moving up from beginner equipment to a professional level.
