Not the best sand art you'll find, but it was pretty nice for the price. This was a gift, and our adult son does enjoy it.

This is such a neat little interactive art piece. My daughter loves to flip it and watch the new patterns fall into place. Very calming.

These are supposed to work SLOWLY but this is finished and the sand dumps from top to bottom in less than 45 seconds! We’ve had one for years but much much better quality and it takes a while to see what it designs. It’s not only meditative but very cool to see different patterns when these products work as intended. This is silly, and may be better suited for a child to use. Not adult. The sand flow is WAY WAY WAY TOO FAST. Returning. No wonder it’s only $12.

This circular moving sand art decor is a fantastic addition to any desk or shelf. When you flip it, the sand flows through the water to create stunning mountain-like landscapes. It’s incredibly mesmerizing and relaxing to watch, making it a perfect stress reliever during a busy day.The quality is excellent, with smooth transitions and no signs of leaks or defects. It feels well-made and durable enough to last with regular use. This thing is awesome. And it makes some spectacular art - occasionally, it makes a Van Gogh painting. The directions are in Chinglish, so here's a translation - you're going to need a hypodermic needle (get the smallest gauge the drug store has) to add or remove air. Remove the black rubber from the rim of the glass and insert the needle through the silicone between the glass at the edge. Add or remove air as needed and then replace the rubber and see how it performs.Warning - if the your dog is drifting at high speed around the corner and smacks the table with his butt, the sand art will fall off and break the glass. I recommend selling your dog before you display this on a flimsy table. (that's a joke - nobody would pay money for my dog)

When I first got this I was so disappointed as the sand was all clumped and stuck together in one half of the circle but realised it was easily fixable by shaking and turning it a couple of times until all the sand was free. Now, there is a knack to this and I have found what works for me is flipping it like you flip a record to play the other side. Rotating it did NOT work for me as all the bubbles moved to the side and to the top, meaning all the sand just fell to the bottom. Flipping it and giving it a bit of movement to evenly distribute the bubbles works like a treat. This does not work every time as sand + bubbles = unpredictable but more often than not I get it right and its so calming and pretty to watch. The impliment used to let more air in/out is not included but I dont recall seeing anywhere in the description that it was included but I think it should be.I think the 12 inch version is the perfect size for this kind of thing.

It’s a very nice little thing that calms you down from busy working, fits desks or shelves well. I codes a lot and liked to watch the sand falling when my code (bug indeed) is running or compiling. I later give another one to a friend who is a CS PhD and he said it is really relaxing.

i would given this item 5 stars but, i had to remove some air from the sandscape as there was just to much and the sand wouldn't even fall all the time, also it has to much sand in it and all the sand wont completely go through bubbles. over all it does what its supposed to.

I was surprised at the high quality of this item and even more surprised it doesn't cost more than it does. I was concerned it would look cheap due to the price but it is actually quite elegant and would be a beautiful addition to any decor. It’s fun to keep turning it and watching the different shapes it makes. The sand moves around the bubbles in order to make the shapes, and you can manipulate where the bubbles go to make it do different things. True, you may need to add/subtract a little air. The more or larger the bubbles, the more slowly it will fall since they create more of an obstacle for the sand to get around (which to me is better since it creates more interesting designs, but that is purely a preference thing). If you do want to add/subtract any air, don't let that intimidate you, it's extremely easy to do and takes seconds.
