I do a lot of arts and crafts and sewing, and this cutting mat is an absolute need for my crafting table. These take a lot of beating and still last for a long time!

I debated for a while what to use to cover the very rough and splintery surface of my workbench, and eventually settled on this mat. It now covers most of my workbench, and it is soooo nice. I can't believe I ever wasted my time trying to stay within the confines of a small mat. I had to trim a few inches off one edge to actually fit on my bench; I used a hacksaw which worked but I'd recommend a jigsaw if you have one.As far as I can tell its self-healing property is about on par with other mats I've used. I will note the surface doesn't particular like alchohol; I used some 70% isopropyl to clean up a small stain and it left a slight discoloration in the area. Not a big deal.As promised by other reviews, this came out of the packaging pretty much odor-free, and it laid down nice and flat on my workbench pretty quickly.All in all I am very happy with this purchase.

I am so happy with my purchase! I am a quilter and really needed to replace my old cutting mat but debated whether or not to buy in this time of year (still winter in NH) because my last one needed to be aired out on my porch for a week before the smell dissipated enough to bring it into the house.But, the price was good and I figured I could keep it in the basement for a week or two to let smell escape so I bought the LARGEST mat they make.It arrived promptly, well-packaged, hand-delivered to our door and I immediately tore into the box. NO SMELL!!! and it's huge. And it's pliable, thick, looks to be of excellent quality and I just can't wait to start cutting on it.

Packaging was pristine with careful padding and shipped flat, NOT ROLLED UP! Yay! However, it has two heavy dimples from damage on the surface near edge on one side about the diameter of a pencil eraser, which show up on the opposite side as two raised bumps. (See photo) I needed mine right away, cut it to sizes I needed and the damaged "dimples" aren't bothering me as they are not on the main part of the working surfaces. This was a 2 foot by 4 foot mat and I love how it works smoothly, grips the work and doesn't slide all over my work table. I cut light and heavy materials i.e., graphic vinyls and 1/8" thick PVC substrates with xacto knives and utility cutters and razor blade box cutters. Makes great, smooth, predictable cuts and saves the blades from dulling so fast. Has grid markings that are very useful on both sides. Don't know how we got along for years without this simple tool ! Next time, I'll insist on a perfect mat.

Love my new ArtAt Self Healing Cutting Mats (24x36) equals a full table top of cutting room! Colors are vivid, easy to read and a great contrast no matter what color your fabric is! It’s only been a little over a week of cutting, so we’ve got a long ways to go before making a total determination, but so far, these mats are fabulous!

I have never used a self healing cutting mat so I was skeptical at first. I'm very pleased with my purchase! Great quality cutting mat [I even accidently ironed my fabric on this mat], and an even greater price. The lines on the mat were helpful, and overall I am glad I purchased the 12x18" mat.

This mat is perfect for modeling projects. Saves your countertops from glue spills, razor cuts, and all the damage your hobby could inflict. I use it every day and after many months it still holds up. The price is right and at some point I’ll buy another, but next time it’ll be a little larger.
