My step son was given an old Swingline stapler, but couldn’t find staples for it. I snooped at two local hardware stores, but nothing fit width wise. At the advice from a third hardware store (a local, smaller retailer) told me the part number needed. Found them on Amazon and they fit/worked perfectly.

I inherited a HEAVY-Duty Craftsman stapler from my father, probably purchased in the 1960s or early '70s. Along with it, he had several (1,000 pc) boxes of Craftsman 0.50" wide, 9/16" long pointed flat-wire, wide-crown staples. After all these years, I finally ran out of staples. Since Sears has closed, finding bits and pieces for Craftsman tools is difficult. I shopped at local hardware stores, but none had staples to fit. These do, and they work great to attach thick corrugated cardboard to wooden 1x2s for my target frames.

Fitted perfect...Thank you Arrow . I spent a lot of time looking to see if I could find these for Swingline Electric Stapler model 34201 and I'm glade I won't have to throw it away. It's a great stapler.

Staples are USA made and fit my old Craftsman staple gun. This wide crown size is hard to find so I ordered lots. While the staples work fine and are well made, its the box they are packaged in that I dislike. There is some sort of tape/shrink wrap plastic over the box, no directions as to how or where to open it. By the time you manage to pry off/cut through this plastic there is no actual box just a folded up origami style container. If you wish to keep the remaining staples intact you have to re-tape the "box" together again.

They did fit into my stapler, but it was a tight squeeze and therefore they would not properly feed. I even tried to squish them in a vice, and sprayed silicone into the stapler but no deal. I threw them out. Most were in good shape and not broken up as others have mentioned. I unfortunately ordered two boxes, with the other box being only 3/8s. Maybe they will work, my next attempt to fix them was to try filing the sides, but they'll probably break up in the process. Why the industry had to all conform to a new size that worked for so long I'll never know.

The staples were fine. I use Arrow all of the time for reupholster projects. With that said, ordering staples online is NOT a good idea. They break in small pieces during shipping. It’s not Arrows fault. That’s why it was hard to choose a rating. 5 stars for arrow staples, 0 stars for ordering online and having them shipped. I gave this review 3 stars so others would read it. Unfortunately, this type of staple is for an old staple gun and cannot be found in stores. So I’m buying an electric Arrow staple gun so I can buy staples in local stores.

Home Depot, ACE, nobody had the 1/2" width. Glad to find these on Amazon. They work well in my trusty Swingline #800. My one complaint is that the glue holding staples together is not as robust as in other batches I have purchased. If I'm not careful handling a full row, clusters of staples tend to break off. Maybe it was just this batch. On a recent project I wasted quite a few staples as a result. Still, better than no staples at all, and I sure don't want to replace my quality American-made stapler.
