(Supderduty, 6.0L Diesel) Built for the (03-05) Ford F350... Obtaining the optimum cylinder head-to-block sealing is especially critical in small displacement engines employing high compression pistons or power adders like turbochargers, nitrous oxide and superchargers. That's why ARP head studs are popular among leading Sport Compact/Import racers. You should know that ARP uses a premium grade 8740 alloy that is rated far superior to "aircraft" quality. Then, each stud is precisely heat-treated to 200,000 psi. Following heattreat, each stud is centerless ground to make it as close to perfectly concentric as possible. This procedure involves about ten very slight cuts and results in an exceptionally straight part. It's important to note that lesser quality studs are not even centerless ground the material is thread rolled in bar stock form (mostly before heat-treat, when the material is easier to machine). Because ARP studs are manufactured to such exacting tolerances, you will note that gaskets and cylinder heads literally glide into position and are perfectly aligned something that won't happen with inferior quality head studs.ARP studs are thread rolled after heat-treat, which gives them about 1000% (that's ten times) better fatigue strength than those studs that are threaded prior to heat-treat.You will also note that ARP offers specially undercut studs for several engines. This procedure (done only to the shorter studs) more equalizes the "stretch" of both studs, which makes for a more consistent clamping force one that compensates for head gasket compression when the head is installed. This helps prevent blown head gaskets, and assures optimum sealing!

These studs are very, very well-made. Make sure that you install them properly not just the torque, but making sure that all the threads in your engine block are clean and there’s no oil or water down in the bottom of the hole. You can get miss torque and you must use the grease that comes with it, it’s great torquing compound studs worked perfect

I studded my 6.0L Powerstroke one at a time. It was a fun project and the truck is running great with no issues. Pull the passenger side A/C box, to get the the passenger side studs. On the drivers side you have access to all the studs except for the farthest one back. To get that stud in, take the 4 nuts off the motor mount and jack that side of the motor up 3", then take the 2 bolts out of the transmission mount and use a bottle jack to push the transfer case over about 2-3" and the head bolt will come out past the firewall. No hammer or hole cutting required! I saw this technique on YouTube, then immediately ordered these studs, it was as easy as it looked.

All the components you’d find in any other ARP 250-4202 kit, but cheaper. All studs have threads. I guess I’ll update once they’re installed if I have any difficulties. I also heard that once you’ve done a torque sequence, wait 24 hrs for any stretch and then redo the torque sequence before you do the final assembly.

ARP. This is a must for any 6.0 owner out there. Get rid of the faulty head bolts that Ford used. These work well and help ensure that you do not end up with a blown head gasket. One negative is that it seems like they need to include a bit more of the ARP ultra torque assembly lubricant.

I bought this to fix the common 6.0 problem, kit has studs and thread lube plus step by step instructions. I have had this installed in my truck for well over a year now and they are still holding strong. Amazon also had the best price by far that I could find!
