I bought the new Aroma Purple Clay Pot Rice Cooker to replace an older teflon-coated rice cooker. I am avoiding teflon cooking surfaces because the health risks. The older cooker had been scratched up significantly. So I decided to try this. It did a fine job cooking white basmati rice on its maiden voyage. I think it might have taken longer to cook than the old model. I do like the clay pot. It is nice piece of pottery. And it's not any more difficult to clean than the teflon non-stick pot of the old rice cooker. But...the rice cooker sits inside an enclosed cooker. Very attractive. And there is a push button that unlatches the lid. But on first use the button proceeded to explode across the room with an over-powerful spring. I tried to reassemble it with the spring, and it just exploded again. Eventually, I figured out it doesn't need the super powerful spring at all. And it all stays held together fine. Also in unpacking this brand new unit I discovered it had been manufactured several years ago. Which just seems a little strange. It came with coupons for $1 off some Mahatma or Carolina brand rice that expired in 2022.

I was tired of the teflon of other rice cookers and pots. I bought the stainless steel version and this rice cooker works great. Unfortunately because it is stainless steel the rice does stick to the bottom so I started to add a little oil into the pot before cooking. It helps a lot and now there is minimal rice stuck to the bottom.

This rice cooker is very cute and what I expected. It is very easy to use and I love that the inner pot is stainless steel. It's not very thick but I think it will last longer if you take good care of it.

I love that there is a brown rice setting. We had to add a little extra water to get the brown rice to turn out well. It does stick some, but it's easy to clean and healthier than the nonstick rice cookers.

I stop using a rice cooker over 25 years ago, I did not want to expose my family to the harmful materials used in almost all rice cookers.I always rinse my rice and make in the stove in stainless steel pot. Jasmine, pastrami, quinoa. All come out perfect; but I was interested In the new smart carb technology and spend time researching.I finally order the Aroma Profesional, with the glass inner cooking bowl, glass lid and smart carb technology.I really wanted to try and remove more starch and have a larger pot fir weekly family dinners, but I am returning it. It dies nit work and is very bulky and inconvenient.I tried making rice 4 times; It does not cook rice well, smart carb options does not work, rice is hard and pot makes strange sounds. Not quiet at all.I will continue to make perfect rice in my very good stainless steel pot, that takes much less time.Maybe I will try in a few years low card technology improves.

This Aroma Housewares Stainless Steel Rice & Grain Multicooker is exactly what I was looking for! The stainless steel material is a huge win for me as I’m working on eliminating plastic, Teflon, and all unsafe substances from my home. Knowing this cooker is free of those materials gives me peace of mind, especially when preparing meals for my family. It’s worth noting that this cooker only makes 4 cups of rice (uncooked), so it’s perfect for smaller households or meal prepping. The compact size is great for saving counter space, and it cooks rice perfectly every time without sticking. The design is sleek, and the digital features are straightforward and easy to use.If you’re looking for a safe, compact, and efficient rice cooker, I highly recommend this one! Just be mindful of the 4-cup capacity—it’s ideal for smaller portions. Love it!

I love my purple clay rice cooker! I have more freedom with my time. I go to work to come home to a nice slow-cooked soup. It makes the most delicious rice and I’m a picky Asian eater. The only thing that I don’t mind is rice gets stuck in the pot so I have to soak and scrub. Doesn’t bother me because I’d rather have this than non-stick. I feel better about what I’m putting in my body and what I’m passing down to my future children. The healthier I am the healthier they will come out to be. I got married recently so I feel like a device like this is essential for a working wife. We don’t have time to cook as much as women did 100 years ago so we need technology to make our lives better. Best $100 I have ever spent.

Let me admit my bias....I am white and grew up in a very stereotypical white household of never washing the rice. That changed when I saw the rice guy on tiktok. I've been making my own sushi for about 5 years now but have been using my Arom rice and steamer. It's very nice and convenient! Works great for steaming a lot of veggies. I wanted to switch because the non stick has been worn away in some spots. Not good! I did a little research that explained the ceramic cooking method is the best! It doesn't stick like the metal pots/rice cookers do, but also doesnt have the non stick Teflon issue. When I got married about a month ago, I did it!! I'm a big girl now and splurged on this amazing rice cooker! My husband is also white and is satisfied with very little. He seriously sets the standards to a new low! BUT!!!!!! This man could actually tell the difference between our old rice cooker and the new amazing ceramic cooker! (No I did not specifically ask him or lead him to his answer.)Overall, I love this rice cook! My sushi is so much better with it! I really notice my wild rice coming out a lot softer and more flavorful since making the switch. I look forward to trying new recipes.Thank you Aroma! - from The Newly Weds

I got two of these cookers, one is the Japanese version which cooks delicious yogurt. They are perfect for a small family of 3 members. I am using them almost every day, sometimes both in the same time. Not just to cook rice, but also sautéed veggies, soups, stews, oatmeal, chili, steamed veggies, in short the main course and side dishes. Another reason I am enjoying this cooker is the interior dish which is still looking good! No worn out signs. Most of all I find it easy to clean. The instant pot on which I spent a fortune from a well known local store, is in the garbage now. It was heavy, dangerous, took a lot of counter top space, the interior dish lost its tfal coating and even got stained with rust, in less than one year, and I did not use it as often as Aroma cooker. Not so versatile and durable as Aroma cooker. When I decided to buy the first Aroma cooker, the attached video just made me say wow several times and decide to get it. I wish I could buy a recipe book too but you know what, I could adapt our favourite recipes and become creative. In short, I am very pleased with my Aroma cookers.
