Went through too many of these units. There are better options here on Amazon for a cheaper price.

These shocks installed as easily as any other shock and came with some plug and play resistors turn off the service suspension warning. With the resistors plugged in you are able to keep the factory leveling intact and the ride feel just the same to me.

I replaced my factory Z55 shocks with these about 4 years ago, prior to non-GM manufacturers being able to build in the Z55 electronics in the shocks. Apparently GM let the patent lapse in the last couple years because there are several manufactrers making these now with the electronics included. I purchased these to bypass the autoride suspension sensors in the shocks as the GM shocks were $100's more at the time. These did exactly as advertised however, I've been riding around with the compressor unplugged for a year now because they leak. I experimented a bit and installed AirRide airbags in my rear coil springs and continued to use the auto level function and it worked but it's not the correct application for these airbags. Recently the shocks started making a lot of noise so I will be replacing these with the OEM style shocks. The reason for the low rating is the short life span. Up until 2 ago (2 years after installation) our suburban was only used a a family vehicle and not a daily commuter so it would only see 3,000-5,000 miles a year, at most. A full year (about 15,000 miles/yr) as a commuter and the shocks failed. I estimate the total, fully operational, use of these between 21,000 and 25,000 miles, no where near the 80K I got out of the factory originals. These get 2 stars because these functioned as described and were a good quality ride while they worked.

EDIT: After taking a long road trip with these shocks, I have to say I’m disappointed. They are way too soft - if I bounce on the hitch ball I can almost make the rear of my truck come off the ground. At speed the rear axle tends to hop over bumps and makes it scary at times. I can’t suggest these specific shocks to anyone. I am returning them and swapping them for a pair of the AS-2700s.——————— (original review below)—————-These shocks have softened up my ride quite a bit. I didn’t even realize my previous shocks had no airbag left - it was completely torn! I wondered why the air compressor would run for 2 straight minutes at a time. Now the compressor rarely needs to turn on and the air bladders are firm when pushed.Be aware that the top bolts for the shocks are very hard to get to - I had to drop the spare tire and remove the heat shield for the passenger side. I would also advise changing out the air compressor for either an Arnott or Dorman replacement unit - the original fittings on the stock shocks had to essentially be ripped off because the lines had rust in them. Refer to one of attached photos - the clear line appears rusty. The error canceler sensors don’t have to be mounted on the shock anywhere. I just used the two zip ties that came with the shocks to attach the sensor to some wires in the vicinity of the shock. Plugged them in and no problems with error messages or warnings. Refer to both attached photos of where I located them.I am a happy customer and am happy to have saved $1000ish having the work done at a dealer with OEM parts. Don’t forget to send back your old shocks for a $50 rebate! Arnott includes new shipping labels on the boxes to send them back.

Fast shipping, product and instructions were great. The plug needed to be sanded down to fit. The air inlet also needed some burrs sanded down.

Edit; 3 years later both shocks are totally dead. Still a good deal? I don’t know. They bought me 3 years. I took these out and deleted the autoride. Installed Moog springs and Billstein 5100 shocks. My ‘03 Tahoe is now a beast. The whole air shock thing is terrible. Mushy. So that’s my update.Very economical solution to the $1600 the dealership wanted. Installed with little in the way of problems. Work fine so far. I'll know more after I put about 2000 miles on em next week. Not a big fan of the big ring on the bypass module, but they worked. Happy.

Had to return both I had orderedBoth of them blew after three daysWhile I was towing half of the recommended weight by the manufacturerI almost fishtailed my Escalade on the highwayCould have gotten a bad batch but be waryI ended up getting them from the dealerAnd had my wallet crying for weeks after that lolJust test them prior to any serious towing or loading up of the vehicle/ on a side note you lose active suspension which will dampen the rideInstead this will only keep a constant ride hightAnd one loaded or unloaded will go up or downHonestly wit the wheels I run I couldn’t tell the differenceOn the same roads I traveled on with this or the active onesOh and I had these installed on a 2009 Cadillac Escalade Esv and too about 15 minutes a sideAnd a new compressor took 15 minutes aswellJust make sure you take the hoses out properlySince these hoses are special gm with a bung built into the hoseIf you damage it you’ll end up spending over 200 at the dealer for all the hoses since you can buy oneAnd can’t use aftermarketSince the shocks are not set up for it either

The product itself is fine. It works as a shock should and nothing but perfect from Arnott. The seller however not so reliant. My order showed two were shocks were included in the kit when purchased. When I contacted them concerning it, they replied with it being Amazon's fault not theres but they would let amazon know, so rather than make it right, they put blame on someone else and left it as is. Again great product , poor seller . I'll be buying again just from another seller.
