My mower has 20-8-8 size wheels, and these chains fit great. No chain tensioner necessary.I live in a mountain side home with a couple acres of level yard, but some inclines between the level sections. At times, without chains, I'd experience slipping tires getting from one area to the other. With the chains on, I get good traction, and can now mow places I used to have to a weed eater or push mower.I can't speak to long term durability, I've only had these a week or two. But I've mowed the lawn a couple times, and the difference in traction and stability going up and down inclines is amazing. I'm not saying over do it, the mower's still a mower, not a mountain goat. Using a riding mower on inclines requires some skill and common sense. But within proper limits, I feel safer with the additional traction chains give, and they don't tear up the yard.

looks like I need to deflate the back tires to fit this on. then reinflate them to have it snug. otherwise, there's no way I could have the chain installed, although the tires are the correct size. this is my first tire chain, could be that I just dont know exactly how to do it, however if that was the case I should have read a warning of some kind before buying it. if in time it will prove just a beginner nuisance, then the star rating will improve.

Had to put them on today, and it was quick and they stayed tight. Very satisfied.

No complaints they seem to be sturdy and should last. Time will tell how they stand up.

I love these chains, and really was surprised at their quality. I just bought a new John Deere to replace an old Cub Cadet mower that now hacks away at the grass at my mountain camp. The lawn at my home is quite steep and even on dry ground I need chains to be safe and get back up to the garage. When I saw the price on these chains, I was suspicious of their quality and durability because I know what good steel chains cost for other purposes. As other reviewers noted, the packaging is modest at best, but the box arrived in one piece, the chains were fine, and I was able to install them with limited time and hassle. If you deflate your tires, the chains go on easily and you can make them snug for long term use (it helps to have an air compressor at home, but tractor tires only carry about 10 lb. of pressure so you could refill with a hand pump if necessary). The chains have not marked up my paved driveway, they do not leave noticeable marks on the lawn, and they deliver the extra traction I need to do the lawn. After mowing 3 times it is hard to comment on long term durability of the chains, but I see no reason they will not last as long as the ones on my old Cub Cadet, and that is many years. These chains are probably worth twice the price for my needs.

I admit I was a bit wary buying these but they're well worth the price. Cheapest I could find locally for the same brand was over $100. The chains appear to be 3/16" Ø ± wire. I put them on the front of my Iseki tractor with 20 x 8 x 10 tires and they fit like a glove. A pain to put on but no fault of the chains, they all are LOL

I took a while to decide on the chains I wanted. After they arrived, I struggled to install them-they're a really tight fit for my Cub Cadet 1515. Then it occurred to me: deflate the tires! I pulled both rear tire valve stems, and while they deflated, I took a minute to swap out my mower blades and grease the mower deck. After I reinstalled the mower deck, the tires were flat, the chains installed easily and I reinflated the tires.Performance wise, I live in WV and I always used to get stuck trying to go up parts of my yard. Now, I can stop in the middle of a slope and take off again without a seconds slip or hesitation. Well worth the money and the 20 minutes it takes to install them!

These are great. They are not heavy bulky chains like the big box stores have or like car/truck tire chains. Think about how often and how hard these will be used compared to a car or truck. You probably don't need the super heavy duty ones. They went on pretty easy even though I waited till I was stuck in snow and had to do it then and there. I readjusted and got them tighter once on flat hard ground. I installed the little round bungee with 4 orange hooks as chain tighteners. These chains have been used for 2 storms and they worked great. I did spin a few times but that is owed more to the small tractor and large pile of snow I was pushing with the plow blade. They ride okay, you can feel it a little especially when going faster. One nice thing, if your fresh snow has been driven on by a car/truck and that track is packed down and the plow blade skims over it, drive the chained tractor tire over the packed stuff and it will break it up for plowing.

These tire chains are very inexpensive. Having used other brands I can also say that these Tire Chains are better quality. I didn't realize just how much of a difference 2 link chains would make compared to 4 link chains. Needless to say - in the snow and ice they are awesome. Getting them on the tire was no more annoying than others - and the fasteners were a little more robust being made from the same chain link material it seems. One minor annoyance, and the reason I removed a star, is that they were packaged in a plastic bag and just sent. In fact, the bag inside the shipping bag was opened (ripped open to be more precise). It was so bad that the instructions were literally wadded up in a little ball like someone had thrown them into the garbage can (they were even torn - luckily this isn't rocket science). I'm almost certain that I received a returned item; and I think I know why. One of the chain links was twisted... it took me almost an hour to get it all straightened out. Once it was un-twisted all was well. Obviously there was a little lack of care when sending these to me - and I can't help but wonder if your mileage will vary. Given the price and the quality of the materials I think it was a good gamble to take - and for me it paid off perfectly. I probably would have exchanged these if it wasn't so much of a hassle. Having said all of that - everything works now and they work well.

We recently moved to East Tennessee and have a very sloped and slanted yard that our riding mower was having a terrible time with due to an abudance of rain and uneven terrain. We bought these chains because the price was the best we could find, but we didn't really expect much from them for the same reason. We've been pleasantly surprised at how good they really are. It took us less than 15 minutes to get them on our 20x8 tires, which is much quicker than we anticipated since we've never done it before. We've mowed with them several times now, and even when the grass has been soaking wet, they've worked great. I had them spin a few times on the steepest part of the slopes when the grass was soaking wet, but they caught each time and pushed me on without tearing up the yard. I recommend them to anyone who needs the extra traction but doesn't want to shell out twice the money. They also arrived two days after I ordered them, well before expected. Very pleased all the way around.
