We had read the reviews about fluoride filters and how many didn't really remove fluoride. We purchased the iSpring US31 3-Stage Under Sink High Capacity Tankless Drinking Water Filtration System-Includes Sediment 2X CTO Carbon Block Filters (Newest Version) and used 2 fluoride filters and 1 carbon just to check all the basics. We ONLY use it on our drinking water! We have a small faucet just for the drinking water. So all the water of the house don't go through the system.Once we had the water run through the filters for a few days, we took samples from our main house faucet (A) and from our drinking faucet (B) and sent them to a laboratory for analysis. We did that because we wanted to make sure the fluoride filters worked otherwise, with the cost, we would send it back. You can see the results on the picture, there is significantly less fluoride when it goes through the filters. We don't know if the amount would be the same with just 1 filter.

I'm getting a higher tds reading after this filter. The filter is adding something to the water... not good

It probably is very effective in reducing fluoride (i guestimate by factor of 1/2 depending on flow rate) but boy did this leave a strong chemical taste even after flushing it more than instructed. I used this cartridge as first stage, and followed it up by carbon block, then a KDF+GAC cartridge (in my 3-housing water filter unit). Probably quite soon will toss the 2nd stage carbon block before it's fully depleted, move the kdf to 2nd stage, and use a multistage with ion xchange resin as last stage. On the pro side, there is a lot of aluminum oxide media in this unit; it should do its job a few years.

We have bought flouride filters from other companies before, but this is the first time from this company. The taste of the water was terrible at first (like drinking plastic) and we hoped it would get better over time. The plastic taste has lessened, but after a month of being installed the water still has an off taste to it. I was hoping to return it, but just realized I missed the return date by a few days :( I recommend buying a flouride filter from a different company.

The picture that shows 3 different filter media in this unit is not correct. It really contains all white pellets of activated alumina. I am using 3 of these filters in a row but even at a flow rate of about 1 liter per minute I'm still reading .3 ppm of fluoride. That is pretty good but I was hoping to get down to .1 ppm or be able to run at a higher flow rate.Update - after the original batch of filters was exhausted, I purchased 6 more and installed them in series.City water is reading 1.6 ppm fluoride with a new Extech Fluoride meter6 Aries filters in series pre-filtered with a 1 micron sediment and 2 carbon block filters at 2 liter/minute reads .8 ppm, a 50% reductionCTA RO system reads .2 ppm fluorideTFC RO system reads .1 ppm fluorideI have taken multiple readings - continuous flow and letting the water sit in the filters for a few days but the best reading I can get now is .6 ppm fluoride. I don't know if the filters require a disproportionately large amount of flushing or if these new ones are from a bad batch. If you were to use a single one of these filters I would expect no meaningful reduction in fluoride. I will update this review if the values improve over time.

I found this searching hydroxyapatite/bone char. Im under the belief it's the better alternative to activated alumina. However none of that matters as the product I received was not as pictured. I got a solid white filter filled with whichever fluoride remover and no activate coal or whatever else is often found in a all in one filter. This product is most likely one fluoride "only" filter used in conjunction with a multi-filter water system. I believe the item I got in the mail was this. Aries AF-10-3690 Fluoride Removal Water Filter Cartridge One final thing to consider when purchasing from this seller. It said only one left in stock when I made the purchase 10/18/15 and it still says that now 11/27/15
