Set works well and makes changing sparkplugs quick and easy. Would have given five stars, but the sockets have a tendency to get slightly stuck on the plugs after tightening and requires a bit of finessing to get them to let go. All in all a good set though.

I used the Ares 5/8" socket to change my spark plugs in my 2012 Chevrolet Equinox LS for the first time and was amazed! When removing and installing my spark plugs, the magnetic feature, with the swivel, kept the plugs firmly inside the socket making the process absolutely flawless. Best purchase for the job!!!

This product works very well, simplifies the job and reduces the risk of removing the plugs. As it seems car manufacturers are not happy unless the can make changing the coil packs and plugs as difficult as possible by shoving the engine under the firewall and putting the plugs into deep plug wells. This tool makes the task a little less daunting which gives me peace of mind.. The back plugs are always a challenge and with a traditional socket, there was always the risk it would come loose from the extension and be stuck in the plug well with a loose plug. This product not only takes away that risk but being magnetic, easily ensures the socket is removed with the socket. Installing the new plugs was also much easier since the plug is 'locked' in the socket making it less likely you will cross thread. The pivoting head and length also make it much easier to access those back sockets. I accidentally bought two of these when ordering and given how well it works, will be giving the second to my neighbor who is a mechanic instead of returning it.

I was attempting to change the plugs in my 5.7 Hemi Ram. The only accessible plugs on the driver's side were the first two, which are toward the front of the engine block. Starting with the 2nd cylinder on the driver's side, I was unable to get a standard spark plug socket and extension on the plugs due to the location of the power brake booster. I ordered this product and with the swivel function, I was then able to remove and replace all the plugs. This task was not possible without this tool. A great idea which performed perfectly as stated. By changing my own plugs, I saved between $425-$525 so the cost of the tool was negligible compared to the money saved. Great product, which I recommend.

Just bought an 06 f150 5.4l and knew it was missing and lacking a little power when I bought it and figured I'd have to replace plugs, coils, vct solenoids, clean the maf sensor and throttle body, maybe clean the injectors, etc.I'm also well aware of the spark plugs breaking issue on these engines so wanted to try and get as many out as possible without breaking them so bought this to make it a little easier. After running codes with my little bafx obdII reader I was getting a hard miss in cylinder 3 and 4 and the multiple miss code. I pulled the coil off and cylinder 3 and put this socket down in the well but couldn't get bite into anything so I thought for sure they had broken the plug and just threw the coil back on and sold it.I shined a light down in the well and sure enough there was broken porcelain all over so I got the lisle tool out but that would thread in at all.So... I decided to pull the coil on cylinder 1 so I could see how that looked and low and behold they had put champion plugs in it which has a larger nut.Turned out cylinder 3 was still threaded in the well with the nut intact and just needed a larger socket. After doing a little research on those particular plugs I found it's apparently a common problem with those plugs to get cracks in the porcelain and then break apart which seems to be what happened here. The plugs that were in there actually look pretty new, they must have just recently been replaced and of course they put the cheap ass yellow coils which are all crap as well.Unfortunately I couldn't use this socket to remove the plugs that were in there but since I'm replacing them with the correct Motorcraft plugs it works like a champ putting them in.With good Motorcraft plugs, good Denso coils and new vct solenoids the engine runs great.

I am just a home mechanic for most of the basics, oil, breaks, transmission, suspension ...Used on a 2013 Honda Accord V6 4 door to install NGK ILZKR7B11 plugs. This unit worked great especially on the rear plugs facing the firewall! The unit fit the factory NGK (which is what I also replaced with). When the unit slides into the spark plug tube the back of the tool sticks out about a 1/2in. If you have ever had a socket get disconnected inside the tube before, you know how great of a feature this is.It is easy to use to hand start the new plugs then attach the ratchet when you do the final tightening. It has a strong hold on the plug so no worries about the plug getting off angle or just simply coming out of the socket when you don't want it to.I did have 1 situation where the tool almost seemed like it was slightly biting into the nut on the plug and did want to let me take the old plug out of the socket. After that I put just a dab of grease on the socket walls. No other challenges for the last 5 plugs. As for the 2013 Honda Accord V6 I could easily use this on the back 3 plugs and it would have enough bend / wiggle to easily take it in and out and greatly helped get the new plugs started.I would purchase again.
