We loved the look of these gloves. I bought them for my kid's first ski trip to Colorado. I'm glad that I bought more than one pair, because the sizing was way off. These were huge on my daughter and not usable for our purposes, which was to be in ski school for a full three days and snowmobiling on another. It's hard to evaluate their effectiveness as far as keeping hands warm since we weren't able to use them.

Well my son isn't a giant, but he is one of the largest kids in his class where most of them come up to his shoulders at best. (One exception though, as there is a kid that is taller than him in his class.) he does need larger gear though and these fit him amazingly well. I honestly thought, seeing he wears similar sizes to his 13 year old brother, that these would fit his brother but it turns out that the range is just outside of that happening. So these will fit a tall 8 year old, but not a shorter 13 year old from my experience. The material is good, and I know the insulation is premium. I am not sure if there are issues with thin spots in the insulation or breaks, but my 8 year old says they are comfortable. These gloves appear to like long and thin hands so would likely work for girls needing gloves as well.

This Arctix gloves are worth every penny. I bought a small for my 7-year-old daughter and the fit was perfect. The gloves have a lot of movement, stretch, and flexibility for little hands to bend and flex. These gloves are really warm and resist water/moisture well. After an hour playing in snow, my child's hands were still dry.I appreciate the extra Velcro on the wrist for tightening to keep snow out. The gloves appear well made. I checked all the seams and they were sewn well. I don't expect any quality issues based on what I saw.

These are really nice gloves. They have a good thickness and warmth without being excessively bulky. These extra-large size gloves fit my 13-year-old son’s hands well. I like the 3M Thinsulate insulation. There are two different black strands that come out of the wrist area. Each glove has a longer elastic strap with a loop at the end, and there’s also a shorter blunt ended strap. I am not sure what that shorter straps are for, but it is small and does not get in the way. The longer strap appears to be meant to go around the wrist, and when we try that it then works very effectively to allow one to take the gloves off temporarily to use your hands, without needing to hold onto the gloves. I wish this was described in the product listing, but it seems that this will come in handy, such as on a ski lift if one needed to remove their gloves to use their hands for something, perhaps to pull something out of a pocket or to use their phone, then you could remove your gloves without fear of dropping them off of the ski lift. I think it will come in handy for that purpose. Similarly, in general use there are times when you want to take off your gloves but don’t want to carry them, so these straps may come in handy more often than expected. The straps are very soft and of a thin material so I don’t think that they will be in the way and they do not seem to affect the comfort of the gloves. It also appears that it would be easy to cut them off if you did not find them useful, so I do not think that that is really a negative if you just want to remove them if you don’t think you would use them. These gloves are comfortable, stylish, and function well. I hope some of this information might be helpful for you. I will attach a couple photos of the gloves we received, and will include those wrist straps in the pictures. We like these gloves.

You guys, the sewn in elastic wrist straps are simply genius! I can't even tell you how many gloves my kids have lost over they years, and I am certain this little detail would have saved half of them from disappearing! But beyond that, I would still have to highly recommend these gloves. They're perfect for cold, snowy winters. And let me tell you....We live in Northern Wisconsin, where our winters last over half a year. Good quality snow gear is must have, and these gloves are perfect. My daughter says they are plenty warm and they seem very nicely made too. With nice, waterproof fabric that was simply made for the outdoors! I ordered the size Large, and they fit my 11yo hands perfectly. They're a tad too big for my 8yo daughter's hands though (I suspect this is a size I would order for her next year).

The Arctix Kids Matterhorn Gloves have lots of thoughtful design features. They are medium thickness- plenty warm without being too bulky. The lining is velvety soft and the outer material is durable. They have a grippy synthetic material on the palm and inner fingers with a faux suede strip in the center of the palm. Super flexibility- great for snowball making! The wrist has a comfortable elastic as well as a strong adjustable velcro patch to tighten up and keep the snow out. Both sides of the gloves have reflective logo material for visibility. They have the little buckle for fastening the two gloves together so they don't get lost separately in storage. Oh, and machine washable! The feature that I had never seen before was the soft elastic wrist bands on the inside that hold them onto the arms even when the glove is off. No more lost gloves! What an awesome idea! The fuschia color is a lot of fun. I would definitely purchase these gloves again when we grow out of them, and would recommend them to others.
