Buffs with 1/2 inch holes are very common and so are 1/4 inch drills, buffing lathes, die grinders, and even the occasional flexshaft handpiece. These are good quality and run perfectly well at 3600 rpm. I use these all the time, they work.

The shaft is not 1/4", it is 6mm. Your arbor coupling will not tighten down enough to secure - unless you want to warp your coupling and deal with off center vibration.

Not much to say other than it works perfectly, great grip on buffing wheels without any slippage. Nice large washers/spacers and nut very easy to tighten down.

Got this so I could mount multiple wheels for buffing using a drill or drill press in a pinch. Should be fine and all metal construction.
