Product Description

What is LINX?

Linx interface

THE NEXT GENERATION OF 4x4 ACCESSORIES

LINX is a unique modern controller that declutters the dashboard and centralizes the command of vehicle accessories by replacing classic switches, gauges and monitors with one sleek and smart driver interface. Built on an expandable platform, LINX will continue to evolve your on and off-road driving experience both now and into the future.

Fitting out a modern 4×4 with a range of accessories such as driving lights, Air Lockers, dual batteries and air compressors can quickly lead to a dash full of out of place, hard to reach switches and a myriad of gauges and monitors either stuck to the windshield or drilled into the dashboard – not to mention all the associated fuses and wiring.

LINX offers a single point of control control via its user-friendly, Bluetooth enabled, mobile touch screen display. The LINX mobile display mounts conveniently and unobtrusively within reach of the driver while the main control hub lies neatly out of sight under the dash or seat; taking care of all accessory wiring.

ARB Linx Accessory Interface

Current Modules include:

Accessory switchboard, battery monitor, tire pressure monitoring system, front & rear traction, compressor & pressure control, speedometer, clock, inclinometer, fridge monitor,

MODULES

TIRE PRESSURE MODULE

TIRE PRESSURE

Monitor and keep a close eye on your vehicle and trailer's tire pressure with the TPMS Bluetooth module. Installed via the vehicles 12V power supply bluetooth comms box* reads data from the ARB TPMS sensors and shows independent readings from your vehicle and up to 3 trailers straight to your LINX display.

*Requires optional Bluetooth comms box (Part No. 7450116)

Inclinometer

INCLINOMETER

Using sensor data from the onboard controller, the inclinometer module displays the roll and pitch of the vehicle, independent of the positioning of the display. Users can set a pitch and roll warning limit to suit their vehicle so an alarm triggers to warn when the set limit is approaching.

air suspension

AIR SUSPENSION

LINX can control up to 4 airbags* either as pairs or independently, allowing for leveling of the vehicle side to side and front to rear. Users can pre-set up to 4 pressure modes which can be names to suit common loads or trailer types available at the push of a button.

*Requires optional LINX Air Bag Isolation Kit (Part No. 7450109)

Battery

BATTERY

LINX allows you to monitor up to 3 batteries simultaneously. Each batter is identified by a custom name with the added ability to set low voltage alarms on each. The State of Charge Monitoring Graph allows users to keep track of 6/12/24hr history of the battery voltage movements. LINX controller's USB charging port will be turned off when the vehicle's battery voltage has dropped below the specified level.

fridge monitor control

FRIDGE MONITOR

For Elements, ZERO and Classic Series 1 Fridges the module can display the fridge's current temperature, power input voltage and compressor status.

When connected to a Classic Series II Fridge additional enhanced features include the ability to turn the fridge on/off, temp control, preset temperatures and fridge lid position open/close alert. The display unit, battery protection and fridge display brightness can also be altered in the module settings.

General Settings

GENERAL SETTINGS

LINX presents a truly adaptable platform with module level settings as well as many additional settings. LINX users can customize the color theme to match any interior dash theme, apply night mode for automated dimming which is activated by the vehicle's headlights, and set preferred unit measurements for air pressure, speed and temperature. LINX is able to update via Wi-Fi.

pressure control

PRESSURE CONTROL

LINX allows tire pressure* to be adjusted and set remotely via the touchscreen. By simply connecting the air hose from your vehicle mounted compressor to the tire valve, current pressure is displayed on the LINX screen.

*Pressure Control requires optional LINX Pressure Control Kit (Part No. 7450107)

traction

FRONT & REAR TRACTION

Capable of switching each locker independently or allowing the front locker to be activated only when the rear locker is engaged first, each locker key is highlighted in the display when selected also showing a locked/unlocked symbol below the icon.

Before you buy this, ask yourself, “why haven’t I ever seen this being used by the big time heavy hitters in the overland and offroad community”? The answer is simple. It’s flawed beyond belief and 100% of that rests solely on the android touch screen that controls it.At its base it’s a cheap android phone with a LINX app on it. You are going to experience severe lagging, constant freezing up and at its worst, shutting down over and over again rendering your lockers, lights, fridge, compressor and whatever else you allow it to control useless.I decided to go with this because I liked how it controlled everything and with so much of my set up being ARB, it seemed like a no brainer to allow an ARB product to control ARB products. Well here’s how it works. The brains is basically flawless, and will never fail but you have to do a ton of wiring to get it all centralized and cleaned up. The touch screen mounts on your dash and will last right about 2.75 years if you’re lucky. Then you call and jump through hoops to get a new one under warranty. Remember, save your receipts, you are going to need them! You get the brand spank’n new system in and get it hooked up. Yay, problem solved.Through the years you’ll update it about 100 times and with every update the touch screen phone just seems to get more and more buggy. Finally it’s going to do the exact same thing it did before and ultimately render your thousands of dollars in equipment into paper weights. No big deal right, this thing is with in their 3 year warranty as advertised on their hold music when you call them, ARB is all about standing by their reliable and well built products. Wellllllll, the warranty starts at the original time of purchase, not the ship date of the new warranty claim product they sent you. So even though that product is with in 3 years, they look at it as 5.75 years old even though that original product is in a box somewhere in the basement. You’ll deal with a pretty nice tech guy but eventually ask to speak with a supervisor who will explain all this to you, belittle you, tell you you’re wrong and the only guy above him is the VP of ARB. At some point he will ask you, “So you’re just going to call in a new warranty claim every 3 years so we can ship you a new product for the rest of your life”. To which you’ll respond, “well no, that wouldn’t happen if you made a product that wasn’t designed to fail at its warranty deadline”. He will even admit that electronic products just don’t last, and despite you explaining your case, tell you he is ending the call. If ARB made the LINX as well built as their lockers or compressor, the LINX would last almost a life time, but using fine print and legal jargon, you’re going to be stuck with a system that doesn’t work.Take your $630 something dollars and the immense amount of time to wire it up properly, and go buy a redarc or a SPOD. This thing is pretty cool until it’s not and then you are totally screwed because ARB will not stand behind this product.

The display reboots or the app reboots most days as I’m driving down the road. If I needed one of my accessories they would not be available while this is happening. Most of the time the app can’t connect with the controller afterwards. When it works it works great. I contacted ARB Tech support and they said to put in a warranty claim. I did that and they never responded. I’m not feeling like ARB is a company to be relied on.
