Good all purpose uke string. Much better than the older Aquila Nylgut. Like all strings, it's sound will differ depending upon what material was used in making your instrument body. You may find it sounds better when finger picking or strumming. I will be using these strings on my banjo ukulele (banjolele) to keep the sound bright but check the twang a smidge. That's the plan but I won't really know until the strings are on and I've played them for a while.

My kid over-wound the A string and popped it. This is on his $20 ukulele, and not long after I told him what would happen if he tuned it too high :(Anyway, after checking a local music store and drooling over their Cordoba instruments, we learned they wanted $40 in labor plus the cost of strings. I ❤️ brick & mortar stores but only the good ones! Anyway, to Amazon I turned, finding these for a really attractive price. Not being a more than a very novice ukulele player, I can't comment on the quality of these versus a another brand. I can say there's a huge jump in quality over what came installed on it, though. These stay in tune much longer, and genuinely make this cheap instrument sound noticeably better. That's a win to me.

I put these on my cheap diamond head ukulele and it absolutely transformed the sound. The strings hold their tuning really well compared to other strings I've tried. I'm definitely going to repurchase in the future.

Bought a new ukulele to learn on and was advised to buy a set of quality strings as the ones supplied with any new uke tend to be pretty poor. Once swapped the sound was much better and stays in tune far longer. Delivery was very quick and the cheapest I could find on Amazon.

Realistically, there is no best ukulele string for everyone. I love these strings on my laminate mid-range ukulele. The girlfriend thinks they are too harsh for her solid-acacia ukulele and she replaced her strings with flouro-carbons. If you read the ukulele nerd forums, you will see long discussions about ukulele strings and different people disagreeing about which strings are best even for the same brand and model of instrument. Bottom line is the best strings for you are a personal decision, based largely on what sound you like and what kind of music you play and what is your skill level. Strings are cheap enough and easy enough to install that, as soon as you develop a good enough ear to tell the difference, you may as well try a few on your ukulele and figure it out for yourself. As with all ukulele strings, they do take a while to settle in. I had to tune them after every 15 minutes of playing for the first couple of days. Every 30 minutes for the next few days. Once an hour for the next week. After a month, I only have to tune them a couple of times a week (or when the room is much cooler or warmer).Note that Aquila "New Nylgut" strings can come in either a brown package or a yellow package. Apparently, they are the same thing, but the brown ones are last year's version. There is a different darker brown package labeled Aquila "Super Nylgut" that is a slightly different formulation for a somewhat higher price. Most reviewers say the price difference is not worth it.

Ma fille est ravie, les cordes sont de bonne qualité et elle a pu les changer sur son Ukulele facilement grâce à un tuto sur youtube. Aucun souci avec ces cordes, elles sont solides et le son est bon.

Been having the super crappy First Act soprano ukulele for years now (don't look at me like that, bought a Makala concert in March, learned to play it and have since bought 8 more ukes, all costing MORE than $15 each, so there). Figured I'd put some decent strings on this painted red thing so my friends could have a uke to misuse while leaving my others alone. I woulda learned how to play ukulele long, long ago if I had known enough to put strings as good as these on it back then. This hunk a junk is now playable, didn't think that would happen. It has terrible wood, frets, tuners (one's hanging on by just one screw, like this for years), everything just sucks, but it now holds a tune for several hours and is louder and way less toy-like sounding. And incredibly, intonation is almost perfect, not sure if that's the strings though, maybe I fiddled with it and it accidentally helped. Kinda sounds like the Makala dolphins I've played but with less bass. They probably include these or very similar Aquila strings standard on alot of ukes now (like my Caramels). If you want the most badass strings on earth for an entry to intermediate ukulele get the Aquila supernylgut 103u's, they are fantastic. If your uke wouldn't really benefit from those kind of extreme dynamics, is really cheap or if you just want to save a couple bucks, these are very good, just don't expect the performance or super fast break in time of the 103u's.

These are great strings. I haven't had any other strings to compare them to except for the black strings that were on my Kala KA-S. These sound way better than those, they are louder, and they keep their tune pretty well. The only problem I have with them (which doesn't take any stars away) is that they take a long time to stretch. It took me a couple of hours of tuning them up a bit and then letting them stretch until I finally got them to the tune I want. On guitar strings, they stretch, but you can tune it all the way up in one go. With these, you have to tune them up and then wait a minute or two and keep doing that for a while until it reaches the correct tuning. Anyways, even though this is a bit of an annoyance, it doesn't affect the playing experience in the long run. They made my $50 uke sound a whole lot better.

If you've bought or been given a standard mid/beginner's level ukulele, it's probably strung with these, and if it isn't then it should be. When I bought my Kala KA-15S Soprano Ukulele, it came pre-strung with these and I love them! They have a nice sound and strumming them is easy as pie. I'm no expert but these strings have received many rave reviews online and among my friends who play ukulele. I actually bought this set to use as replacements for the ones on my 4 year old cousin's "play guitar" from toys-r-us. It has 4 strings, and the actual size of the instrument isn't that far off from a plastic ukulele, so I thought some nicer strings might add some quality to the instrument if he wanted to learn chords and play it for real. Overall, they're good solid strings that works for beginners and pros alike. If you don't have them, buy a set and you won't regret it!Note: Cousin loves the strings :3
