I love the low g and the nice feel on my fingers. After a stroke, my fingers have numbness but I am more tactile than previously. For me, these are easier to play.

I bought strings that were absolutely awful, but I didn't know how bad they were until I bought these. These have almost completely settled, my last ones after 2 years never did. So that alone makes me very happy with this purchase. The sound is amazing, even on a cheap saprano. I am still getting use to the low G, but it adds a little something new and interesting to the songs I have been playing. I would recommend them.

Two things: If you play an uke, and/or you are learning to play, also learn to change your strings. Ukes vary in terms of the exact way to do it but put in the time to get comfortable with that skill. And if you change strings, buy good strings. I have landed on Aquila as a trusted brand for quality strings. Next, embrace the idea of a low G set of strings. The low G will give you a ton of "room" to play classic guitar tunes, campfire songs, and the Blues. The uke will lose the "winky-tinky" sound--that is great for some songs--but limiting overall. I keep a soprano uke with "normal strings"--but every other instrument is "low G". And if in reading this you also decide to buy another Uke, that is a good thing!

I had ordered these strings before and was happy with them. The second time I ordered them I only received one string, possibly the C, but it's hard to tell just by looking at it.

They take a while to keep tuned, but I'll admit that I do like the low g string set up quite a bit more than the high g string set up. Keep in mind, this can throw you off, because some tabs you come across will be written for a high g sting set up, but if you know your way around the fretboard you should be able to work around it. If not, you may want to have one Ukulele for the high g string set up, and another for a low g string set upNote, he careful, because you may have to widen the groove on the nut in order to get the low g string to fit. There are videos online for that, or just take it to a luthier

I learned to play the guitar years ago but had not practiced for many years. When I took it up again I realised how out of practice I was. I thought that a uke might be fun and I had a relatively cheap ukulele for my birthday After lowering the action I still thought the tone of the original strings could be improved so I bought this set of Aquila strings. They are certainly an improvement and easier to play. They take a little time to settle in but with patience and a tuner they eventually stay in tune. I am still a beginner but I can play a few simple chords and tunes which I find very satisfying.

I just wish I'd bought the longer concert or tenor-sized strings. These are long enough for a soprano if you do it perfectly the first time.

I have never re-stringed an instrument. And I read so many reviews that the reds would break that I was very hesitant to attempt the change. I watched a couple videos on YouTube and took my time. It was easy and I had no problems with the strings. As others said, the Low G is wound and is a different color than the others which are more brown. The strings seem to be the same size as original strings so no alterations to the nut were needed. It sounds great. It looks great. I'm glad I made the change.

The sound is very good, even on an inexpensive soprano. It really makes a difference having all the strings the same gauge. The low G is still a wound string, but it's wound with very fine wire and easy on the fingers. After using these on my "travel" soprano, I also bought a high-G set for my concert size, and may add them to my tenors when they need new strings.I was a little nervous about installing them given some of the comments, but pulling them up manually after tightening with the tuners (as it shows in the Aquila video) stretched them without breaking them. The other concern was the color, but they're more of a mellow reddish brown than bright red, so they don't look gaudy or out of place on my ukes.
