Unlike almost every other pump on Amazon, this one does exactly what it advertises. It is quiet, I cannot even hear it over the water moving in my hydroponics system. It also meets the listed head (lift) specs!

I don't know what I was on or what I was thinking, but I acquired this submersible pump to use as a replacement for a broken pump inside one of my cats' drinking fountains.Um ... no. This pump is quite large, and as the description states, it's suitable for use in large aquariums, ponds, and so forth. A pet water fountain uses a 3w submersible pump that can also be used in small tabletop aquariums. This pump is a 15w. Duh. My poor cats.In the one photo this pump is on the right, and the 3w suitable for pet fountains on the left.Due to its size (fits fully in the palm of one's hand) and girth, I tested it out in the bathtub. It moved the water fairly well. Small suction cups are decent. There are attached to the pump via three notches on the bottom. It's definitely an very powerful pump. We have a small turtle pond so in the spring, the pump will go there.

Use the recommended hose size to travel up 3 ft high length of hose and it wouldn't do it. I suppose it would be good for a fountain something that didn't require any head pressure.

Bought this pump bc I needed more flow in my tank. Installed it according to the directions but it is VERY loud and does not produce enough output. Tested it in the sink to be sure there were no air pockets or anything but still would screech and produce minimal flow. Very disappointed

I have planted aquariums of various sizes, so I don't actually vacuum my substrate often since that's just plant food, only if I need to get rid of some scraped-off algae really. but I do sometimes need to do water changes, or take the water out while I re-scape and put it back after so I don't get a bunch of aquasoil in the water column. this works great for replacing any water, and as long as the tank's 10 gallons or bigger you can pull water out with it too. that works great for me, since replacing is when I had the most trouble with siphon systems-- you have to have the bucket elevated to do a siphon and nobody wants to hold a big bucket in the air or risk aquarium frame integrity by putting it on top. with this nifty pump I can replace it from the ground, and top it off within seconds to a couple minutes depending on size! the tube I have isn't the best fit but at least the ill fitting bit is contained within my source water bucket so it's not squirting water anywhere. eventually I'll give in and get one that precisely fits this because it's a keeper, won't be going back to the old way.

It's heavy duty and feels well built. I like the fact that the pick up is from the bottom so you can really dictate the water level that you are drawing from. I got this is a back up for one of my 5 aio nano tanks. I ordered the smallest one (6w) for that purpose and it is a. It larger than I would prefer. I can wedge it in there, but it is a tight fit. The suction cups work as intended to keep the pump seated correctly. Overall I'm satisfied. Works well, good amount of flow, decent head pressure, noise level is fine once it's submerged.
