Fairly easy install and fixed the problem. The old one was hot all the time and the humidifier not working regularly. Now it is on a lot, correctly for this time of year.

this finally got the humidifier working again. i changed out the inlet strainer, the orifice plug and outlet tube, but it still wasn't working (already checked the inlet line, hot water was flowing). i could hear the humidistat clicking at the ambient humidity level and a weak click from the solenoid, but no water. suspected there was stuff mucking up the solenoid, swapped it out (never did it before, but fairly easy to do), prayed to god, powered it back up, and the sweet sound of water rushing through the solenoid and outlet tube filled my ears. relatively easy diy fix and much cheaper than calling the plumber, glad amazon has so many random replacement parts with fast shipping

This humidifier solenoid is an Aprilaire brand - an exact replacement for the original in my Model 560 whole house humidifier unit. The original solenoid stopped functioning after 29 years so I hope this unit will have similar longevity. Other similar solenoid units were offered at much lower prices on Amazon but I noticed that the orifice sizes on some were different than this unit - which matched the original. Mounting bracket was also exact match for original and the strainer was included with the solenoid. It was a simple installation and took about 10 minutes. Just be sure you don't lose the small orifice piece that you'll need to remove from your existing solenoid.

Installation was straight forward and it works. Now it's a waiting game to see how long this valve lasts.This item replaced research products brand valve. This item appears to be the same as the other generic brand valve which could be bought at a significant lower price. I'd have gotten the generic brand knowing what I know now.

Although advertised for an Aprilaire humidifier, it looked almost exactly like the solenoid valve on my humidifier, and it was 24V. I installed it, and can confirm that it works with a 10 yr old Lennox Healthy Climate humidifier model HCWB3-17.

My Aprilaire 700 series humidifier was not getting sufficient water to operate properly. After trying other repair options, I thought it might be the valve. I opted for the more expensive valve made by Aprilaire, since they manufactured the humidifier. It worked like a charm. It was easy to install in about twenty minutes, and the humidifier is now as good as new. I am very pleased with my purchase.

This solenoid was an exact replacement of our old one. We have had 3 or 4 of them burn out(not purchased here) over a very short amount of time(every other year approximately) So far this one has made it through this past winter. Hope it continues to hold up! It was more cost effective to buy here and install ourselves. And the ones the furnace company was using to replace the old ones were not lasting more than a year at a time.

I swapped out my old valve when it went bust with this one. The swap was easy to do and the new valve worked fine. Just wish it was less expensive.

This is a OEM Aprilaire solenoid. It is cheaper than on the Aprilaire site. I had an Aprilaire model 700 installed in August 2015, so this part was still under the 5 year warranty. Aprilaire will only honor the warranty if you go through the installer of the product so they told me when I called. I found this not satisfactory as it is a simple replacement and I certainly didn’t wish to pay the installer who warrantees the labor for one year $125 to come and install this part. This requirement to have the installer replace the part in effect makes the warranty worthless!. It took about 10 minutes to install the new soliniod and it works well. There is a good video on the Aprilaire site that shows how to test to see if the solenoid is the problem and it helped me.You are supposed to clean the inlet filter once a year and the pin hole on the output side. The installer never mentioned either of these things.Delivery of this product was two days - great service!
