As the headline states: Perfect Fit - 2003 Dodge RAM 1500 QuadCab - 8' Bed - 5.7L HemiAs you can see from the pics I've replaced Dodge's original center support bearing with an A-Premium bearing. To Dodge's credit it looks like that was an original bearing from 2003. It turned out the bearing was still fine but the rubber support around the bearing was failing. After cutting away the old rubber I used a large inexpensive gear puller to remove the bearing from the drive shaft. There was no indication how the new bearing should be orientated, so I just matched the old rubber support pattern with the new. The rubber side that has less nooks and crannies face forward towards the slinger (that I had to repair with JB Weld epoxy).Installing was a breeze with this technique...Clean the shaft where the bearing will sit with carb or brake cleaner... if shaft isn't damaged resist using emery-cloth or scouring pad to clean as the shaft will be at its smoothest.Apply lubrication to the shaft where bearing will sit. I used PB Blaster.Freeze the shaft where the bearing will sit by shaking a can of compressed air vigorously (the kind that cleans lenses), turn can upside down and spray mounting area for 15 or more seconds with "Freon". This will shrink the metal shaft for easier installation.Use a 1-1/4" exhaust pipe and big hammer to seat the bearing on the shaft. I only had to hit the bearing three times to seat it.That's it!
