Firstly, I love having this as the chair for my small desk. It allows me to sit lower than a chair, which helps me keep my neck in a more straight position while working on the computer for hours, as well as giving me something to do while waiting multiple 5 minute intervals for files to copy. I can get little mini workout while working. It fits underneath my desk perfectly for storage, and the ring it sits in is perfect for preventing it from rolling. That really is all the ring is good for, as if you are sitting on it and moving, the ring does not stop it from rolling right over their sides. But, it is great for when you stand, it keeps the yoga ball perfectly in place, and again, prevents rolling away. I got the larger ball, and I made the choice to not completely fill it with air, which was a fantastic decision. My short legs on my 5ft 4in frame just sit perfectly at a 90 degree angle this way, and it allows a more stable feel when just sitting and not moving. It also gives me more opportunity to work on balance without feeling like it will roll out and make me crash to the ground. Having said that, I do wishi had gone with the smaller size, because if I were to air this up fully for a more solid feel, it will be too big for me to sit on comfortably and securely. I ended up using an electric balloon pump to air this up, as the pump it comes with does the absolute minimal, and after 5 minutes of pumping and my legs beginning to hurt, it still looked massively deflated. A hand pump would have worked better, but I definitely recommend an electric pump of some sort, as it took less than a minute to get it where I wanted. It feels like a durable ball, and does feel like it will last a long while, but of course, only time will tell if that is the case. I did choose to give this only 4 stars, because my rating was actually closer to a 4.4. I round up or down when I fall in the middle like this, and it's just not quite 5 star worthy for the reasons stated. I thought the ring on the bottom would offer some support in not allowing the ball to move while on it, which it does not, and I do wish it would have had a better explanation on what sizes work best for what. 5ft 4 can definitely use the larger size, but fully inflated it is more difficult. And the smaller version could be better for those my height who want a more solid feel beneath them. Preference on how much air you wish to have in these will make the size needed vastly different for some. Despite me removing a star, I do love this ball, and it has made sitting at my desk for long hours, an opportunity for me to work on strengthening my core and to keep moving during the time I'm working. Very nice, love it. Definitely recommend for those who struggle to stare at a screen for lengths of time while sitting still. Would have loved to have one when I was in school.

I got this to try out in the office as my posture at work is pretty horrible. So far it's working great. It's really easy to keep a good upright posture with this but I did have to get used to it. I like to place the ball just a hair back from where I want it, sit down, and then kind of flex my hamstrings and bring my butt closer to the desk. This kind of engages my core without tiring it, brings my spine to neutral, and feels pretty dang good, borderline stretching my lower back. In between typing when I'm thinking I find myself rolling side to side and bouncing a bit which keeps the back warm and keeps me from getting desk fatigue. Really like that part.I'm not quite sold on the ring at the bottom but think it likely works for most people. If I have to get out of my desk I have to push the ball and ring out of the way a bit which kinda sucks because getting a good placement when you get back can be a bit lengthier than a chair or ball that just rolls back into place. You sit down, the donut isn't quite right so you stand up, slide the ring and ball forward, and give it another go... and then another go. I think if I had my way I would make this ball similar to a slam ball from the gym. Same exterior ball but with a much smaller heavier ball filled with sand or similar inside of it. This would let you get out of the desk rolling it out of the way a hair but if you move back the smaller interior ball would keep it in place on the floor. Without the donut this thing rolls willy nilly around the office. With the donut I have to adjust several times when coming back. Small... but annoying.

It's plenty big and seems to hold me just fine, it wasn't stinky like a lot of rubbery products are when you first get them, and it even came with a pump to blow it up (I still used my own, mine is MUCH faster, but if you're down bad and you have a couple hours to kill you can use the one they included). The only problem is, because the base is basically just an inner tube, it stops the ball from rolling away but it doesn't really "cradle" it, and it can't be scooted easily. If you have a chair, you can move it in and out or you can scoot in while you're sitting, either because the office chair rolls or because most other chairs will slide/scoot. But the inner tube and yoga ball being rubber means they have a ton of friction with the ground and you can't simply scoot in or out with it. You have to either sit too far back from your desk OR you have to put the ball where it need to be to sit correctly and then awkwardly climb onto it by clinging onto your desk and sticking your legs under somehow, it's really uncomfortable to try to get in place.Once you're set up though, it's great. It's just really inconvenient to GET set up.
