The previous version of this product, which I bought as a present for my wife, turned out not to fit her iPhone 16 properly.I wrote a review noting this and the company responded quickly. They were thoughtful enough to provide this upgraded version, which does fit the 16. (So far she hasn't needed to use any of the included foam spacers.)That was great service from the company.Here's a "plus": She can use the phone's normal-magnification _and_ 2X options without having to shift the lens. (I don't know if it works that way with all iPhones.)It took a little experimenting, but we found a way to use the zoom ring that works best for her. Rather than try zooming in "real time," turn the ring either fully one way or fully the other way. THEN move in on the subject.At first I thought the lens isn't as sharp as the one we had before. I was wrong. It's sharp.The problem was camera motion. Holding as still as possible is critical for sharpness with high image magnification. Enabling the phone's image stabilization will help somewhat if it has that feature.The ring light is a great addition to the product. I'm impressed by its several controls. Shooting close-up often casts your shadow within the image area, and the ring light helps fill unwanted shadows.Be sure to start screwing in the ring light carefully to avoid cross-threading it. Those are pretty fine threads.Conclusion: It was a good product before. Now it's even better.

Installation was very easy, just line up the holes with the camera and tighten before mounting the lens. No problems with focusing and the quality is excellent. Great for getting kids interested in plants and insects. Very useful for outdoor observation.
